Thread: So you want to dizzy/kd as master swordsman

Lunge 1
Area attack 3
I was chacing a bounty hunter and he was shooting at me, pvp, so i decided hmm lets use lung1 to get this guy to stop running, then by accident i pressed area attack 3 and he stayed down while i chopped his ass up......

yes area 3 dizzies fairly well.
pluz most profession have a higher KD resist than they do a posture down resist.
so if you dizzy and then posture down you get the kd/dizzy

I'm surprised more people don't catch on to this when they complain about a lack of KD in swordsman. Pretty much every BH knows that a dizzy/posture change (suppresion fire, action shot) works just as well as a dizzy/KD.

I used to say do area attack 3 and if their dizzy enough when getting up they will be knocked down but... no one listened.
The only problem with this is that it takes way to long to do unless you have a 1 spd sword or +100 2hspd mods, but its better than nothing

Ummm, what good is lunge 1 when you are using area 3? Area 3 does posture down anyways.
But the chances of area 3 dizzying are like 20%, which basically makes it worthless. Especially if your opponent has any dizzy defense. 2H hit 3 can also do dizzy, but the chances of it succeeding are just as crappy.
You're better off getting KD 2 from TKA line, or getting master brawler and using 1H dizzy then lunge 1 or 2 on them. But both of those suck right now, on most people, cause everyone has such high defenses, and your accuracy will suck with those moves (unless you're a master of fencer or TKA).
To be honest, you're much better off just forgetting about dizzy/KD. Warcry 2 is way better for us.

use a speed slice hammer or scyth since it hits the cap.
after you use lunge 2 get in and spam about 3 area3's - you'll get the dizzy.
then use lunge1 to get them postured and you got em

Personally, I prefer to use 2h hit 3 to try to dizzy rather than area hit 3. The problem with using area hit 3 to try and dizzy (not all of us have lunge 2) is if you manage to get the posture down to stick before a dizzy lands on your target, you make them immune to further posture down attacks for the remainder of the 30 sec timer.

I usually start off with area 3 then two hand hit 3. Most times if not my opponent is dizzy and tries to runaway, thats when i use lunge one. If im close up i will just try to posture down my opponent long enough for me to get a bleed on him , then spam the mind hits.

Dizzy/KD is overrated. I can stand up from it probably 80% of the time.
You're better off using warcry and intimidate, in my opinion. Then you just smack them with mind hit until you can warcry them again, and so on.
If you lunge 2 them, they can just stand right back up before you even have the chance to dizzy them. Then you'll have wasted your KD, and if you don't dizzy them before you posture change them, you won't be able to get them dizzy/KDed at all. And then they can just use a stim and heal every bit of damage you just did to them. It's relying too much on luck for my tastes.
Dizzy/KD will definately be useful after next publish, because of the warcry nerf. But until then, it's a waste of time for a swordsman to try to pull off, IMO.
But if you do want to dizzy/KD, I'd recommend just spamming 2H hit 3 or Area 3 until they are dizzied and THEN lunge 1 or 2 them.

There's three problems for me in spamming 2hhit3 or areaattack3.
1. they take 143 and 190 HAM respectively
2. they're chance to dizzy in my experience is roughly 5% (no creature or player has ever been dizzied from my 2hhit3, no creature has even been dizzied from my aa3, a player has been dizzied twice in a row and never again by aa3.) Making it completely pointless to try. If I want to dizzy I'll use my one handed curved sword and 1hdizzy1.
3. Most people tend to be TKM's in PvP, they dizzy you their first hit and KD you the second. You don't get the chance to spam areaattack3 more then once to begin with. And I can tell anyone who thinks dizzy/KD is pointless, most people don't have a macro allowing them to get up when the game believes they should be down. When I'm down, I'm down for at least a few hits, and then I'm practically dead already without armour, with armour I can't do specials and therefor no dizzy/KD and therefor the cycle repeats itself on me.
I dizzy/KD because I pretty much have to do it before they do it on me, and they will. I use my curved sword and 1hdizzy1, followed by 1hlunge2 and then switch to my scythe or two handed curved sword.
