Swords used to be one of the toughest grinds, believe it or not.
back last summer (when i leveled it), it took longer to get to novice swordsman than it takes to get to tka novice.
you might be thinking "lol i can get nov tka in a buff set". try doing it wihout buffs. playinhg at the most 4 hours a day. took you about 2 weeks to get to novice swords lol.
you had to use a 6.0 or slower speed,40-150 damage2 handed axe to get from novice to the fourth box (you used to certify with the 2 hand curved sword at box 4, not box 2), and NOONE made the double blade 2 handed axes or cleavers.
the good ol' days lol. was soooo much fun.

On Bria we had smiths and docs floating around within a few days

yeah sorry was just so damn amazed and excited last night I had to pat my self on the back but I've already determined swords is one of the most fun profs I've done and it may have been quick coming but it will be with me for good long time.

the thing is 90% of the beta players went to bria and ahazi, and they were the only ppl who really knew what to do.
on tarquinas you were just outta luck lol.

but when considering a novice with probably one box with the combat xp u saved up, it would take 10-15 minutes for a group of ten that is red and yellow to someone that is 3333. for your first3 of boxes that take swords xpu need 525k xp,40k xp a groupmeans u need to take out 13 groups. it will take 10 minutes a group meaning is will take 130 minutes to get the xp for your first 3 boxes translates into 2 hours.
first row =525k/ 40k=13 groupsX 10min/group=130 min/ 60min in an hour= 2 hrs
second set of three boxes u will need 750k xp. lets say u now take groups of ten at 7 minutes each. 750k xp means it will take 19 groups of ten that give 40k xp. 19 groups at 7 minutes each is 133 minutes= 2 hours
second row= 750k/ 40k=19 X 7 =133 = 2hrs
third set will take 1050000 xp. 5 minutes a group now. 1.05 mil taken in 40k chunks means it will take 26 groups of ten. 5 minutes for each of the 26 groups is 130 minutes= 2 hours.
third row- 1.05 mil xp / 40k = 26 X 5=130 /60 =2 hrs
the fourth set of three takes 1350000 xp. 1350000 taken in 40k increments means about 34 groups of 10 squills. now were at 2 minutes a group so that would take 67 minutes.

2+2+2+1=7 hours
7 hours of grinding > 3 and a half hour buff session
this means u would have to do 2 buff sessions ofconstant-inhuman-super-uber-death-grip-on-the-hammer grinding to get master swordsman the fastest way possible. and i didnt even factor in the caps for recieving xp, i know at swords 4 the most u can gain in one kill is around 1200-1700 xp, and novice probably isnt that much different.

No I had the 300k combat xp capped from master pike/TKM so I started with 0003 aka scythe cert then just flew through the rest, don't forget with my extra speed and accuaracy I didn't stop moving I could just continue running (slowly cause I lag pretty bad) through the cave picking up more squills while spamming spin 2 after I had 0013 and the xp jsut filled up, nice math though.
