Anyone else having amazingly lucky hits going on?

I've only done this once, and managed to squeeze in a screen shot RIGHT before it disapeared.

It's 5093 if you look close.

Enjoy.

I don't think the damage over their head counts. I have hit for super high damage above thier head but in the combat box it only says something like 3k instead.

I believe the damage number in the combat chat box is the base damage that you do and the number over the mob's head is the modified damage (i.e. the damage that they actually take), which takes into account stance, defence, etc. So you really are inflicting the damage number you see over their head.

I thought it was the other way around, with the floatie being raw damage, and the boxed number being the applied dmg. We could ask a dev I guess.

Yeah, I think Ether is right.I have hit for over 5k above their head but it shows up as like 3-4k in combat chat.

I've had a 5140 combat chat dmg. But he was holding a rifle hehe. My max dmg so far has been 2237 against melee. Btw, these were all combat chat dmg. Not real dmg.

he was probably "spiced up" lol! thats also another reason why your damage was so high, when you take certain spices it mods come aspects of the damage........

The reason his HAM bar isso large is because he has it resized.

Looks like the standard 1300/1100/700 layout to me.

So far non of my Spices have "increased" the size of my visible HAM bars yet.

Real damage is the damage that shows up over the head. That's the damage after it's gone through all the midifiers like armor and resistances.

If you don't believe me, watch the damage over your head while wearing armor. It'll be less than what shows up in the boxif your armor is absorbing damage.

No, the floating number is the modified damage that you really inflict. With a Laser Rifle that's AR2 it's common to hit for "300" but really do 500 damage due to the AR modification which floats over their head.

I usually see my katana do more damage over the mob's head then what shows in my damage window, so is it safe to say the katana has an AR of 1? Power hammer is supposed to have a "medium" rating, so whatever that means. It gets a 25% damage bonus towards pretty much any target, even armor rating 1 personal armor I think. They introduced 0-3 AR values, and now they're making them on a word scale, so I don't exactly know what "medium" means anymore, lol.
