From blair's blog...
"What's going to happen to all the existing items?
We are going to convert all existing items to what they need to be. In some cases, the functionality of an item no longer exists, so we will adapt it to make it useful under the new system. Stims (Stimulants) fall into this category. Many of you are concerned about weapons. In many cases the speed and damage values of your weapons will change. As part of the conversion, we are maintaining the scale of all the weapons across the servers. This means, that if you had one of the most powerful weapons on the server before CU, you will still have one of the most powerful weapons on the server after CU. Though it is likely the stats will have been altered. "
So, if this is correct, im damn glad i decided not to sell my hammer!

Your 'assuming' the 'most powerful' weapons are going to be 'most powerful' by today's standards.
How do you know its not going to be 'most powerful' by mere single digit (max. damage & min. damage) points...vs. 3x to 10x more powerful?

Anyone in here get screwed by the Jedi conversion of lightsabers?

i dont think lightsabers are going to get touched.
if i remeber right when they had the jedi revamp they made it so that jedi lightsabers are in the damage range for the CU.
what happened was supposedly lightsabers were going to be converted so that a good lightsaber in the old system was a good lightsaber in the new system. what actually happened was all the existing lightsabers were turned into crap and every jedi had to reloot enough pearls to make a new lightsaber.
ahh that is what you are talking about. i thought you were talking about LS getting hit again
but any way ya i would be cautious of buying any Acklay hammers with high damage atm and wait. also you should save your acklay bones that you loot for after the CU to see what happens. probably make one now if you have multiples of the and after the CU hits have your WS make the other Acklay bones into weapons. to see how it compairs to our other ones.
but i would definetly not make any decissions on selling/buying weapons untill after the CU hits.

The only thing I can foresee as a potenetial problem would be the new weapons having higher stats then the current weapons, but my wookiee will hold his hammer until a dev pulls it out of his cold dead hands.

I'm sure they'll still retain high damage...probably at the cost of speed. Always watch out for what's NOT being said.
You'll still have uberhammers in game, but I doubt there'll be such a thing as a "speed cap" as we know it. Would you still like a 1000 max hammer if you were swinging it once every 3-4 seconds?

yes, because in 3-4 seconds time, that guy standing next to me is going to feel some pain
