I've been hearing rumors of a few very, very strong melee weapons that have actually been found as loot (such as a great poisoning polearm that the nightsisters drop). One I heard about was a 2 hand weapon called the Legendary axe, I think. Is there any chance someone else has heard of this and knows who drops it? If it's true this would finally give us something to compensate for all those krayt guns out there.

Legendary and exceptional weapons are random drops; very rare. There is no known pattern or specific NPC from which they drop. This prevents camping.

Best bet may be to take up smuggler, sheesh lookit all the yellow in that dude's inventory...

Yup, they're real. But insanely rare, perhaps even "unique".

I loot stuff like that (mostly polearms) from Nightsister elders. 30K ham. Sit in a spawn of 5 other NPC's with 15 - 20k ham. Tough unless your CH as well.

(Legendary) and (Exceptional) loot drops are not the same as Nightsister weapons.
