Thread: Dots, CM,s: is there any way around them

OK i have a problem thats ticking me off. i have one of the best temps on the game right now and i was just pwned 3 times today. once by a cm once by a #%@ with dots and once again by a cm. Im getting sick of the dots cause its just like another dang cm but at least they are moslt likely being removed. but the real annyoing one is the CMs. is there anyway to kill one solo? i Fought one who had fencer(master, i think) and cm. she poisoned me and we fought for a bit then i was incaped, got up was incaped agail soon after, used force of will, then fought for a good 1 min or 2 and then finaly died. that fight wasnt so bad. probably cause she wasnt master CM. dunno. but then the second CM i just recently was killed by, had rifleman and cm, he poisoned me and my mind was instantly gone so i used force of will again and his friend came along and finished me off. i want to know if it is possible to take one of the morons on solo? what special hits would you do if you were to do that? i tried kd, then mind hit 3 over and over but one of them had extremely good armor and killed me anyway. if i dont find any way around this i might quit the dang pvp and go artisan. if not forever at least untill the dots go away. and why is it that its mostly every CM you see is rebel. whats up with that. is that the only way they can win? cause my bro is the exact some template on tarquinas, but hes never had any trouble with this. he hates dots, same here. they are cool to use but its just like a cm again, so i guess rebs arent as dumb on his server. so anyone have any ideas? i might move servers if i cant find anyway around this. and dont get me wrong on the dots i love'em but they are annoying. its like cheating. or like putting a CM on your sword.

I had your same exact problem a month or 2 ago. What I did is change my template around, i'm a doc 4440, pike 2000, master swordsman, combat prowess 0004. The defenses aren't great, but that isn't a problem since you can heal dizzy if you spam /stand and /healstate 
you'll also be immune to DOTs, be able to stick DOTs yourself, headhit with a scythe, and still have swords' awesome pve abilities

Yeah Doc 4020 works for healing stuff, but you should go Master....So you can buff yourself.

I had this problem back in june. so i went doc. doc 4030 to be exact. sure i can't buff myself, but hey, i've got so many full doc friends that it doesn't really matter! Mswords/4030 doc/master brawler is a great, great template. great. i can't even begin to tell you how great it is. I'd much rather have master brawler than buffing (honest to god...).

I agree, Master Brawler is a must have for Swordsman, not only does it add to toughness and Speed, but Accuracy and CoB.

DoTs are what rocks everyones' socks now. Stacking is old news.
Gotta have some doc now, like it or not.

Due to armor and defense stackers being over-powering people have put more reliance on DoT's than every before. However, there is a way around them thats been here for a while now but most people are too cheap to get.
Next time as your local doctor to give you some poison/disease resist buffs. They stop weapon DoT's (except fire) cold and are pretty decent vs. CM's depending on how good of a CM crafter made the poison packs. There's still a chance the CM's can blugeon through them with enhanced potency packs but thats a toss up. The good packs also have absorbtion which reduce the effectiveness each tick.
Regardless of the lame press most noobs give it, these things work. I've never lost to a pikeman except for a nasty mind fire nor any other CM on sunrunner yet while sporting these. If you're going to PvP these ought to be as standard as stun armor.

And that is another great reason to get 4440 doc =P you are immune to weapon DOTs and can heal CM DOTs in one shot. plus you can poison buff yourself and normal buff

What if there are no docs with the resist buffs tho? is that just not a day to go pvp'ing or should you do something else? do the armor and clothing attachments work when they have for example: +2 poison resist or +2 disaese resist?
LOL sorry about writing a HUGE paragraph on the post. lol. i was ticked at the dang cms so bad i wrote a lot. lol.

well i always find ways around 90% armor, specially since all i use is a 704 hammer, (i whip out the exceptional acklay bone one if they use dots ) i have dots, i use them if its 2vs1 or somethin, my temp is 4440 doc m2h/2000 pike,0004 cp so its fun

Doc doesnt work for me... By the time I've healed all 5 poisons/fires/diseases my mind is gone anyways from the combination of the DOTs plus my healing
