I recently dueled a Tera Kasi novice who was 1-1-1-1. I am at 2-2-2-2 he took me out in seconds..hmmm are we no match for them. I dueled him probably 8 times.. I'm no super gamer. but I just couldn't figure out how to beat him. He dizzied me right off, then stun. I can't believe this. Can someone perhaps tell me an idea on how to fight him..or is it true we are no match for them?

Nope, Tkms are so far above us that we can't even see them from where we are.

Hi,

I just have training duel with my friend who is a higher level TKA, I am a novice swordsman. He has KD/dizzy, so basically if he hits me with a KD/dizzy, i will never get up.

So after a few trials, I finally managed to defeat him. The trick is distance. Swordsman's lunge can hit a _long_ distance (I use a advanced power hammer). Use that to your advantage. What I did is always maintain a distance from him where he can't hit me, while I keep lunge-ing him with my hammer. I managed to incapacitated him before he land me a KD.

If he uses burst run, you do too. Always stay out his fist-distance, while you lunge from far. The damage isn't exactly great, but you get to hit him.

I believe there are always better techniques, so master swordsmen please offer insights

most of the posts in the forum is about tkm beats swordman. As you can see, swordman will never beat tkm fair and square.

yeah..... that just proves you know nothing. Lunge has 15 meters. Lunge 2 has knockdown. Nuff said.

What are you talking about? Does a swordsman have a longer range lunge even though lungecomesfrom the brawler profession? Please read my post again. I stated that tkas could lunge which means that if you can lunge them to start the fight, they can lunge you also.

oh and as far as i know the range of vibro knucklers is still lower than the other melee weapons even though the devs said they changed it.

I'm a Master Brawler with no intention of surrendering it anytime soon, but I think it's lame to force people to master an extra skill tree just to be competitive with another class. That can also get Master Brawler.

I'm Master Brawler, Master Swordsman, 4/0/0/4 Teras Kasi Artist, and 4/0/4/0 Fencer...

My tactic is this..

If he challenges me to the duel, I hit the warcry2 button as I accept..This stuns for 20s fairly often, shockingly..

Then I use Lunge2.. then Area Attack 3.. Note: I use a 2.6(I think, maybe 2.8.. not real sure) base 2HCS.. I prefer speed over power with my moves =)

Intimidate2 -- start using Headhit3 as soon as that lands

If he gets up I try to warcry(If it's been long enough, usually hasnt) - then KD/AA3..reapply Intim2 if needed

It's pretty effective in duels =)

Well i have beat plenty of master TKA but its not easy. Here is the stratagy i mostly use. I usually start out with my powerhammer and hit them with a mind bleed. Then i take off running through them. Wait for the bleed to tick once then i just joust them spamming mind hit. By jousting i mean running past them and then turning around and running through them again. Since our power hammer is so slow this gives it time to refresh and thats less time they have spamming specials on us. So pretty much for every time they hit me i also hit them with a mind hit, also by jousting i have time to heal myself between passes. I can beat most TKA like this (i have dueled plenty of masters and have won just as many times as i have lost, and the only times i have lost is due to KD/dizzy combo or KD2)

Ifyou wanted to be really cheap start out with your fastest weapon and start with either warcry or a posture change, if you can get your move off before they hit you with KD2 then mind hit them and kite until they drop dead, if they heal the bleed they lose more mind, if they meditate you come in with a mind hit.

Some people think kiting is cheep, but then again so is KD/Dizzy combo. Whats cheeper than fighting an opponent that cant defens himself or hit you back?
