Thread: Reggi's Guide
When I started playing swordsman, I found the tusken camp. The tusken camp was cheap, easy exp that required absolutely no skill (which is prolly the reason there were 39385858 CH's there). Well after they nerfed the spawn rate there, I had to go out and make some real experience/money. I tried several planets and mobs but I ran across Snorbals, especially mature/elder FEMALE snorbals who didn't assist eachother and were not aggro.
I had a doctor/medic friend come with me and started taking out snorbal missions. The main problem I was running across was the HAM cost for doing specials constantly. I could heal the health/action pools, but I found myself being really low on the mind pool which was unhealable (died a few times from it too). I wound up with 5 or 6 minutes of downtime waiting on my mind pool to regen (yea, my willpower/focus stinks). I had to come up with a new plan. Remembering that the warcry would stop mobs from attacking for 5 or so seconds, I devised a new strat to taking down the big split-nosed elephants. I started attacking using no specials and hitting warcry every 6 or 7 swings. Warcry doesn't take away from mind pool, but takes quite a bit from health/action pool which is easily healed by the medic (whom also makes a good bit of exp/money also). I found myself killing the snorbals with no downtime at all and taking a quarter of the time to go through a mission.
Potential problem: I am a wookie and have a natural +10 to warcry, so I am not sure how that will effect the effectiveness of the warcry. I heard that the pluses to some things like defense and warcry and such don't even work, so it might not be an issue at all, I can't say for certain.
**NOTE** Yes, I am a power gamer, always have been, always will be. If you are not a power gamer, I have no problem with that and respect however you decide to play this, or any other game, so please give me the same respect and keep snide remarks about my gameplay preference to yourself please. Thank you.
Why wouldn't it?
I came to the same conclusion: don't use your specials and travel with a medic. You'll cut your downtime to nothing, get great XP and the medic will level up like mad (and can get some weapon XP in there too).
The whole secret is to find non-social creatures so you can get them one at a time, and don't use your special attacks unless you want serious downtime.
Well, I guess that would help wouldn't it? Snorbals can be found on Lok. Kinda pricey to get there (around 1500-2k) but you can make that money up fast. Don't forget to clone, cause you might die a few times until you get the hang of aggro range and how to step lightly around the endless aggro mobs (** Humanoids have a REALLY HUGE aggro range, so if you can see them, step back**).
Don't feel that you need to apologize for me Reggi, I can handle my own just fine.
By the way, the issue isn't that I don't agree with you because you play in a way that's different from me. The issue is you play in a lame way that offers next to no challenge or talent. Then you come here to flaunt your Master Swordsman title as if you had actually accomplished something. That's what irks me. I come here looking for suggestions, advice, etc on how to play a Swordsman from folks who actually did more than exploit or killsteal or find the biggest fattest slowest moving easiest mob to kill.
Also by the way,I'm just expressing my opinion in a public forum. My opinions are not meant as a personal attack on you Reggi, I just disagree on your methodologies.
Tsion - why is it less of an achievement what he has done than what you or I have done? He is killing stuff you are killing stuff - his guide is a great way to kill stuff. What is wrong with that?

So tanking snorbals involves no challenge or talent?
So.... you're saying we should all go tank Kimos and die half the time?
Sounds to me like he wants to play smart and you want to play stupid. Also could be that he wants to roleplay a character by not dying and you just go out and die repeatedly because this is just Super Mario to you.
Thanks for the postReggie!I'mgoing to try yourtechnique, but on rontos on Tatooine, whichseem to be a fair match to my abilityas a novice swordsman with only one skill box so far.
Sometimes it can be expeidant to find better ways of earning XP because you have different goals in this game. If you have already run around the galaxy and hunted in large groups. Done theme parks, then the next thing to try would be PVP.
But we are melee swordsman. We get our asses kicked 99% of the time by ranged and people with knock down. That is not very fun. So the best we can hope to do is get to a master level to help even the playing feild. And the amount of XP required to get there is ungodly. So personally I appreciate hearing suggestions like this but only because I have certain goals in mind. Anyone who does the easy XP like the tusken fort will feel cheap while they do it. I know Idid after the first few fights. But now that I am half way through Master swordsman I find that either everything is to easy and gives crap xp.. or everything is WAY WAY WAY to hard. There isnt anything really in the middle anymore. I think that is due to the fact that on certain skill increases you only gain a move and not more skill at what you are doing.....
