How did you/anyone do it?? I'm a novice swordsman 0/0/0/0 and can't seem to find good xp anywhere. I'm a soloer b/c I have to go change my 3 month old's diapers all the time so being in a group dosen't work for me.

There really isn't a good way to level meele solo, you almost have to group.

get a good tank if you tend to solo often. I have a rockbeetle and I can do a few Greater Dessertwomp rats by myself before my tank crashes(he isnt quite full grown yet though). I plan on getting a better tank, like a cowardly gurreck or such when my ch friend can tame them. The key is to stay in range, but just behind your tank so the target doesnt attack you. Rontos are also possible this way, but it is a little harder. Just hope your pet doesnt start running

Ah yeah, forgot about that, you can solo well if you're a CH

For the pet-less soloer, I found the line of bocatts (diseased, lesser, and normal) to be good solo prey. They hit pretty hard, but you get about 1k XP per kill. Be careful though, they are social.

fort tusken is where i became novice swordsman and mastered it, i'll swear by it but in the past couple of weeks they seem to db very fast like before you even fall over so you might want to either be a good ch or hope there are some in that group.

Use weapon powerups that reduce health costand boost yourhealth supportingstats -thisreally helps with the steep health cost on the powerhammer.

Most definitely I have to agree on using powerups. Use action cost reduction 32% and speed 16% it makes a big difference on using the power-hammer. I thought the 2 handed sword was great but the power hammer rocks. Although it has slower speeds than a good 2 handed sworded it can wield good damages on a single target. On some good strikes I can attack rebel npcs in prone or kneeling position for as high as 12k damage. I am currently a 4/4/0/3 swordsman and i solo pikets on dantione all day long solo using mind hit 1 and mind attack 3 with the use of stim c's to heal my heal myself I can drop them in about 20 seconds to 40 seconds max if not blinded by their attacks.

On the question of how to solo swordsman i find the major skill to get is pharmocoloy 4 on the medic tree soyou can use some good stim c's with base heals upwards from 498.So youcan fight all day long solo and then heal all your action and mind with one heal. This system worked for me and a pet to tank is a big plus because it takes the attention away from yourself. Use a pet or do alot of imperial faction missions (hehe I'm a diehard Imperial) and gain enough faction points to get a stormtrooper pet and use these to help you tank. I wouldn't bother with using a power hammer until once you get mind hit 3 so you easily take down the harder mob's with a few strikes. Good luck and have fun mastering a great melee skill.

Having mastered TK first, I knew how to solo melee better the second time round. I have no difficulties so far soloing as a 1412 swordsman backed up by master brawler (intimidate is extremely necessary if you're soloing to halve the incoming damage) and master medic (stim d's that heal your entire health and action bar every time you pop one are a true blessing).

It takes ages to make master brawler, but I find intimidate2 alone reason to get it, if only to drop it after you get master of your chosen melee profession.

Am sure folks will disagree but having master medic and master brawler allowed me to master tk reasonably hassle free (well and knockdown didn't stink back then either) but I don't find soloing swordsman any more difficult at all with these two masteries to support myself. Maybe it will get worse closer to master (I know tk sure as heck did) but so far am going ahead at full steam solo and petless - well I drag around a non-ch roba because he's good company =) He watches while I bonk things on the head, oinking approvingly.

lol, ill be able to buff myself by the time i get my hammer, so it shouldnt be too much of a problem.

I used to solo all the time. mind you i did group a lot, but i mainly soloed.
I found the narglatch cave extremely awesome for exp, and runnin faction missions, well not so much anymore, since they are so easy now, used to get u some decent exp. i heard that the borgle cave on rori is great as far as xp goes, but ive never been their personally. on rori u can get missions to kill shallow tortons and some other fambaa looking thing that are both huge and intimidating but fairly easy to take down. i switched planets a lot too, but i wish i had tried talus out a little more. o and on lok they have perleks and flits which are great, and also gurnasets.
