Thread: which weapon do you prefer?

I am a master weaponsmith, and I am looking to start selling melee weapons. With guns it seems like each class of weapons, has a couple star’s, a couple situational weapons, and a couple of worthless ones. What I would like to know is what weapons do you want me to offer? Which one’s are the star’s? Which ones are good situational weapons? Do you prefer weapons experimented for damage/speed or ham? What weapons are preferred by those climbing the ladder? Which one’s are preferred by masters? Thanks in advance for your help. It is appreciated.

for a master swordsman with the new mitigation in effect power hammer is the best PVE and the cleaver is the best for PVP 2h curved sword has little value in duels now with mitigation

I'd really like the PowerHammer if the health ham cost wasn't so high.. My favorite weapon atm is the 2H Curved Sword.. mine's great.

I'm saving PH for Master, but am using a 2h curved now (love it)...prefer high damage on the 2H curved.

I'm 45k combat XP away from master now- I go back and forth between the PH and the 2hsword and will occassionally use the cleaver.

My current modus operandus is to initially bleed with the hammer then switch to the sword- it seems to be working well for me.

I use the same technique and I am a 1/4/4/3....I have a great 2-h curved with +12 mods with a speed slice so it hits everytime....although i realize i am speed capped having mastered techniques. If I can get a good damage slice on my cleaver I will probably give it a serious work out. It has a higher min damage so you don't get the combat spam with 370 hit then a lil 120 hit on the next line.

Without a doubt the Cleaver, damage sliced. Nothing like chopping away 4000mind from a sand bug once its knocked on its scaly butt.

The 2-handed curved sword is the climbing weapon of choice, and by some, is the prefered weapon period. Others prefer the balanced ham costs of the cleaver as well as its tight damage range. With mitigation it will probably take over pvp. The PH however is the choice of most masters, and is used by lower level swordsmen for applying bleeds. If you want something that will sell fast, experiment hammers for high speed, low hams, or better accuracy. These are the main problems, and if you can solve them, you'll quickly become a multi-millionare.

I know this is an old thread but I'm using a damage sliced cleaver those are way better then the curved once u get a little bit up in the techniques tree and do better average damage then the 2hcurved.

If u have a smuggler friend ide suggest u make a bunch off em and let him slice those for damage and only put the 300 max damage on ure vendor ...... u'll be selling em like hotcakes and thus make up for the loss for the ones that where only sliced for speed and can be sold at the bazaar for 3k.

Ok I have a question for Swordsman out there.... it's also a suggestion.

Why not use TWO PowerHammers? Have a Master Weaponsmith make you two of them. On one, have him put every single experimentation point into DAMAGE. Then go get it sliced it sliced for Damage. The HAM costs will be high, but you can use that one only to apply bleeds. Then have the weaponsmith put all experimentation points of the other PH into HAM costs. I dunno what the max damage would be, but it should be at least 200-350, right? If so, go get that one sliced for damage (unless that raises HAM costs... not sure if it does or not). Now you can use the high-damage Power Hammer for applying the bleeds, then switch to the low HAM-cost hammer and use it to whack away.

If you have the money, you can also do the same thing with the 2H curved sword or Cleaver, just in case your foe has blast resists or is kinetic vulnerable or whatever.

So the question for Master Swordsmen is......... would this work?

I use a power hammer exclusively, bought it off the bazaar, and it has 4 speed, 140-460 damage, and like 30% wound i think....
