Hehe, congrats Vol, I'm a Novice Squad Leader on Starsider. The trees are basically empty at this point, hopefully dev's will add more content to them later one. I was making about 2k SL exp per kill on endor.

Heh, as soon as I get my survival xp up I will be a squad leader. I figured SL xp would be damage based since there are no commands having to do with combat in the first skill box...unless for some reason the devs wanted a SL to spam system messages for xp.

*shudder*

Thanks, snt, good to hear from you.

... heh... and yes, I'm quite aware of the relatively empty status of Squad Leader, in case you didn't see any of my other threads on this forum

I trained novice Monday night Vol...

Here is something I have a concern with... For some reason last night things started to go wrong with group leaders. You could invite everyone into a group but the leader would still show as ungrouped eventhough everyone else was in the group. This happened also when I tried to add my droid to my group. It's not just me either, a friend made the group and I showed that I was in it and he didn't. This is a major concern because you do not get the SL exp atless you personally show you are in the group.

About SL exp and damage done... The exp equals that of weapon exp when you are in a group of 5. I haven't tried it with more than that though.

About a group member being within 64m of the creature. I also found this not to be the case. I was grouped with some guildmates of mine and they were in the cantina getting fixed up while I was out getting some pistol exp (not specifically SL exp). When I killed things I was still getting the SL exp as I normally would with a small group (the 42-50%). I can see how this would be exploited by getting in with a large group of 19 crafters and you. They would just have to go about their buisness and you could solo easy things and the SL exp would shoot through the roof. Just one thing in the many list of SL bugs.

By the way, I'm on Starsider if you were wondering and I would be happy to split training costs with anyone willing.

Hey everyone,

I finally trained Novice Squad Leader tonight. I haven't heard of anyone else doing this yet... but it would seem really strange if I was the first. I got screenshots with the time/date stamps of it, though (but my webhost is down at the moment). I am fairly certain I'm the first Novice SL on my server (Naritus), however.

A quick report before I head to bed: I grouped with my Architect friend and whacked a few butterflies to test a few things.

First, you can only get Squad Leader XP if you're A.) The group leader, and B.) A group member is within 64m of the creature when it dies.

Second, in a two person group, Squad Leader XP is 42% of the Carbine XP I gain at Novice Carbineer. Yes, it is confirmed, Squad Leader XP is still strictly based on damage done.

While I don't have time to test this tonight, I assume that, unlike in Beta, Squad Leader XP will scale up greatly with bigger groups.

Now its time to try and gain the 175,000 Squad Leader XP required to gain my first skill box (Tactics I, for /rally), with zero new stats, zero new abilities, and zero new specials.... just /sysgroup which is worthless except to impress newbies

Bed time!

Pikeman : Because the devs were one profession short.

Awesome. Glad to see a few Squad Leaders on Starsider already. I am working towards it as well and hopefully will be there next week. Cheers!

im also a squad leader on SS. Name is Ryke jenbar. For the exact formula on the SL xp, I worked it out to be your combat XP x2, then multiplied by how many total members in the group including pets and droids.
