Hello all,

Ever since I read the previews for SWG I wanted to be a squad leader, unfortunately I didn't get into the beta and am still working toward SL. I have reada lot in this forum and have a question, maybe I missed the explanationbut I keep hearing about how the SL is so understrength. How is this? I read the abilities and it seems pretty powerful (obviously not in a single, but as part of a group it seems huge) No matter how watered down SL is I am going to be one (my darn singlemindedness) but I am just curious what you all mean by saying it is weak.

Thanks

The other threads on this forum explain that in great detail.

There is no other information on this issue to relate that wasn't already captured in those.

Fundamentally, the problem is that a group with a Squad Leader is not noticeably better than a group without one.

One thing SOE has proven time and time again is their ability to continuously craft a game to make it better and more balanced.

I have no doubt that the SL will grow into it's own in the months to come and will be a much more coveted profession.....

...and we will be Master SL's by that time.

I actually love the fact that SL is the redheaded stepchild right now...it will keep the numbers of them low and we will all enjoy the benefits of the class that much more when we are in high demenad after SOE works on them.

Give it time. Squad Leaders will eventually be given attention if the developers and player base agree they need it.

In the meantime, enjoy one of the most underused professions in the game, and wear your tag proudly.

I believe Image Designer, Ranger, Bioengineer, Chef, Fencer, Pikeman, and Swordsmen are all about equally rare.

Sad, really, that eight of the game's twenty-six professions are very rare. Thats 30%.

Thats funny becouse I am going ranger SL.

I just need 2k more ranged xp to get SL, I already have ranger.

Also if you ever plan to hunt on Lok or endor, wich my group does...You NEED a ranger.

My group is about 10 people and we all play at a Lan center (one of the players owns the center) this makes for great teamwork and I have to say the best gaming time of my life...and I have played every computer game (Worthwhile) since falcon 3.0 and Lemmings...

I finnally took a look at SL and just the little abilities intangables jump out at me..I love the looks of this class.

I plan on going Pikeman/Squad leader so I must be ultra rareI really do like the look of this class and its group abilites. Perhaps in time this class will blossom and everyone will need is to make their group extraordinary.

In my opinion I think this profession (i just want to say class dammit) will be the deciding factor in a Alliance vs Imperial fight. I have already gotten 360 Alliance Faction Points, and -170 Imperial Faction points (which -200 then I am Killed on Site or KOS). So before too long I will be in the war full force. I play A Human and specing in Pistol (almost to pistoleer now) and will master Scout then I think I will either go into Creature Handling, or Squad Leader. I can't make my mind up on this issue. But ANYWAY, I really do think the group with the Squad Leader will beat the group without it.

this was my attempt to built a group suport character , that was not a healer but more of buff class .. might not get SL though it a expensive profession given how many skill points I already need for chef :/
