I'm a new squad leader (yeah, I know it's broken, I've been reading the forums for 2 weeks here and I just picked up Squad Leader yesterday). One problem I keep reading about is that once you've maxed out your Combat XP, You can't get Squad Leader XP anymore.

Well, yesterday while making the arduous run out to Wayfar, I started digging through the Customer Service tickets. A quick search for 'squad leader' came up with two tickets. One was a mundane 'what is a squad leader', but one was the everpresent 'I'm a squad leader, and I can't get any XP, what's wrong?'

Their response? You have to use a weapon that you haven't fully mastered yet. If you have, then you have to forget a skill or use another weapon. They stated it as though it wasn't a bug, but by design.

You have got to be kidding me.

Oh wow I didn't know this, I'll have to tell my friend who's a TK Master and was going to drop SL - I'm sure he'll just be THRILLED. ha

Hmm, in a group with 12 faction/ch pets, 7 master pistoleers/carbineers/riflemen, Im really going to powerlevel SL with the combat XP I'll get using a cdef rifle O_o

As it happens, I'm nowhere near capped on my carbine, and I would master SL well before carbine if I was going that high, but that CSR reply is totally laughable.

i'm a freaking Pistoleer! i just used one of the web based skill planers to plot out exactly which skill will need to know to be my idea of the 'Perfict SL' and when im finsished ill have a big fat 0 skill points left. i dont have time to be messing with other weapons! i choose to specalize in pistols for a reason, this is absolutly rediculess!!!!

In a perfict world the DEVs would be lined up and ever SL player would be able to kick each and ever one of them in the head!

Does this apply to Creature Handling XP as well? Anyone.

from what i can tell you get CH XP if your pets do at least 1 point of damage or higher, it doesnt matter how much damage you do, if your tammed drumi causes 1 point of damage and you kill it with your gun or what ever in one hit you will still get the same amount of CH XP if you send in a GSP and have it kill the same enemy with out firing a shot

but im new to CH so i could be wrong you may want to consult the CH forum

CH XP has nothing to do with combat xp, so no, this has nothing to do with CH xp.

CH xp is based on your pets level and the creatures level. i don't know an exact formula, all i know is lower level pet against higher level mob gives higher xp.

i'm a master pistoleer but haven't capped out on combat xp yet. you're saying a CSR, one of the worst sources of knowledge, told you THAT? if he's right, are they going to reimburse me for the money i lose for retraining? and are they going to give me free apprenticeship points?
