Okay this was not planned and totally unexpected....

I was with some members of my PA in the warren last night and after we had done all we came there to do we split up and head to the surface.

Soon I noticed I was getting 180 SL xp, 220 SL xp, 150 SL xp, and from what i've heard that's pretty good numbers considering the change. Want to know my secret?

I was simply driftingalong the cooridors of the warren trying to find my way back up and got lost, but i when i started recieving the xp i looked at my group members stats...only one of them was actually in combat. It was a pistoleer.

So you want to know how to still try and crawl your way up the ladder? Simple....get a pistoleer or two and just sit back.

Of course here's the kicker....

WE'RE F**KING SQUAD LEADERS! TEAM LEADERS! GROUP ORGANIZERS! AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE TO BE DOING ANYTHING LET ALONE FIGHTING TO GETPROFESSION XP!!! IN FACT HELPING TO KILL A MOB ACTUALLY MAKES US LOOSE XP!!!

so...

in summation let me put it to you like this....do you know of any musician who gains xp in a band...but looses it on his or her own? Or how about a commando...who gains heavy weapons xp with a pistol or carbine, but looses it when he uses a rocket launcher?

I rest my case.

I think you're missing the point. This allows you to actually lead a team! The better your group does, the better the XP. Most leaders in history were notknown for their skill in combat, it was known for their tactical ability to defeat the enemy. Yes, you COULD take a pistoleer or two and slowly crawl up the SL tree,but how is this worsethan taking a pet and soloing MOBs to get SL xp? How is that being a squad leader? Lead a good team, and you'll reap the rewards of XP. Tag along with a pistoleer or two and you'll get small bits and pieces of xp. Last night, I took a group into the Rancor caves on Dathomir. They weren't very advanced, but I was able to actually view the battlefield instead of trying to do damage or kill the MOB. I could asses where they should be, and who should pull out and get healed. We did this all with NO PETS. I got alot of XP last night, but I wasn't paying attention, because finally, I could enjoy being a LEADER.

Nice to know one of us enjoys this "profession".

As for me, I'm becoming a Doctor, and no matter what you think it is that you're doing "leading" those squads, I'm gonna be dozens of times more effective for my squad.

And it's good you like it, cuz it's gonna be like this for a looooong time. Maybe even long enough for you to master it.

I gave up master doctor, expert combat medic, expert pistoleer to get my FS slot going.. I guess I misread what the holocron said.. Hmmm let me go have a look.. YEP totally misread that..
