Thread: Fix SL (yes yet another thread)
They need to fix SLfast.
It's one thing to work hard to get to the top for skills that don't work, but it's quite another thing when you can't even get to the top because the exp gain is so slow. If you can get the exp, then at least you can get the skills and *hope* theywill be fixed. If you can't get the exp you get cheated in two ways: by getting skills that don't work after working extra hard to even get them. I have noproblems with huge sinks whether they be exp, time, orwhatever as long as the reward is worth the effort. Can you honestly tell me that the current level of rewards are acceptable to the time it will now take to become master? I don't think so, and I have 12 more boxes + master to gain in SL, even though I started SL the same timeas I did novice carabineer and I am only 5 boxes from master in that. Granted I've been too busy this week to test the new hot fixed SL exp, but if it's not geared for solo exp (with pets and faction pets) or smaller groups, it'll be hard for me to gain master (I work nights so its hard to get into groups with my guild except for weekends, which is a small amount of the week and the biggest PC count is usually 5 in my groups).
In many ways this all relates back to balance, one of my biggest pet peeves is that in most online games you can take two people in different classes, they can sit down and play the same amount of time doing the same things, and you end up with one of them being far superior then the other in their usefulness. EVERYONE should be USEFUL and bring a SIMILAR level ofpower in abilities to their groups. Shouldn't the SL offer abilities, skills, perks, whatver that are useful to the group? Shouldn't this skills all be relative to the other "support" classes power? An example is a combat medic substantially changestheir group's ability to fight, so does a doctor. Can you honestly say the SL class does this? I think we are at best 1/10th of what they do but I think it's even worse, when you would think that a "Squad Leader" would benefit combat substantially. Do other support classes put in more effort or time then we do? I don't think so really, so why are we 2nd class citizens? Last I checked we pay the same amount of money for the game and per month, yet we have had virtually no feedback from the dev team about our concerns.
Sorry I needed to vent about some of this stuff (my first posthere as a SL), I would not mind things being broken so much if they would just TALK to us some, and let us know that they aren't just sitting around collecting our money waiting for us to get the joke and leave.
