Thread: How faction orientated should SL be ?

I see a number of posts referring to faction perks, ranks etc. and also numbers of posts talking about hunting missions.

So - there are 3 main types of role for a Squad Leader ?

1) non faction missions - creature hunting

2) faction based - rebel, imperial or crime lord

3) PvP

Should there be diferences in what an SL can do in each of these situations ?

Common elements are already there to a certain extent - from what I can see/read (only justgot novice SLbtw)

Anyone who is rebel or imperial can get a faction pet and play at being an SL :-) except the rebel faction pets are rubbish (whine whine whine lol !!)

so I understand the call for a diferentiator for a Ranked Factioned SL - more faction pets, or better ones.

I like the idea of rank being important for an SL - could there be a tie in between SL skill level and faction rank ?

i.e. IF rank = sargeant and Leadership 1 THEN faction pet +1 ................. or something like that

If you make some of the more important or high powered faction perks (which are usable in combat) only available to Squad Leader profession as well as specific rank in GCW faction, then you really make this an exciting profession.

It makes sense to me that you need leadership experience as well as rank to say direct an AT-ST, or SpecOps Heavy Weapon specialist in combt - as these would be highly experienced soldiers/drivers and very expensive equipment not to be used by any incompetent deskbound officer !! lol

There are also several good posts on these subjects. I myself made a post on Neutral SLs and the fact that there are no Neutral factions for them to get followers from. Ther are also several posts on SL and faction followers/perks/ect and unique followers.

Seems both of you have some good ideas , but might need to check out a couple of the older posts to see if your ideas could be voiced there and thus bring them back to the top for others to look at and comment on.

I mean no disrespect, but I have repeating myself.

I'm fine with us SL's getting special faction perks. But I hope that the developers aren't steered too hard in that direction. There are plenty of great things that can be done, and stuff to fix. Without focusing on faction. I personally do not want to seenon-GCW SL's left out in the cold.Yes if they were to make some good changes and upgrades to the prof without touching faction perks, it would not bother me in the least.

Hmmmm....Faction specfic specials might be interesting....

Like calling down a squad of Storm Troopers for help, or some sort of uber-courage rally for rebels....

We should be able to unlock special faction missions at either a reb/imperial terminal. This would require a squad made up of different professions, could be anything from raiding a spawned base, to helping npcs that are under attack.

When in a group doing faction missions, we should grant bonuses to FP, depending on your Leadership skills which should be added into the profession. You could also have it so when a member gets DB and did not insure, there is no penalty if grouped with a master squad leader.

We should have the ability to call in dropships to airlift out of hot zones, or aerial bombardment. Either with leadership points or faction points.
