Hey guys, I know this has nothing to do with SL, but I post on this all the time, and most of you know me. My question is (since SOE won't help) does anyone know how to get positive Hutt faction? killing Valarians only grants Jabba faction points, not Hutt. I'm about 2 missions from completing Jabba's palace, and can't cause I got whacked with -5000 hutt faction pts. anyone know how to get positive hutt faction?

Sorry, but I don't know. I wish that there were a website or at least a post from the DEVs or something that listed what NPCs yielded what faction.

Hutt faction doesn't matter in the Jabba Themepark...

'Jabba' faction is the one you want to get to Zero at least...go to Mos Eisley and take missions against Valarians (thes are actually Jabba-sponsored missions)

I was doing Jabba missions at Jabba's Palace with -5000 Jabba faction. I was 2 missions away from completion, had about 200+Hutt faction points. (which is what you get from doing Missions at the ThemePark) next day I logged on to complete the Themepark, when I was told to get lost by everyone in the Palace. I checked my Faction and for some reason, I had -5000 Hutt pts. Now I can't complete the Park, and I cannot find anything that gives + Hutt points. Jabba Faction points do not matter when trying to do the Theme Park.

I've spoken with a number of people on this subject in the past and it's generally agreed that there is currently no wayof gaining positive Hutt faction. That said, from mostreports, it's only Jabba faction that's considered when doing the Theme Park. Both my girlfriend and myself have negative Hutt and positive Jabba and had no problems completing the Theme park after the revamp.

Although it may not be relevant, I had a similar problem when I first went to complete the quests for Prefect Talmont in Bestine, shortly after Publish 6. When I first spoke to his lackey (I forget his name) he refused to talk to me, basically saying I wasn't "Imperial" enough. Admitting that I was fairly low rank (Private!) I ran a couple of faction missions and gained the first promotion, after which he happily talked to me. However, I've spoken to other Imperial members, far higher ranking than I - who were also told the same thing.

Why am I telling you this? Well, it just made me think that maybe I needed to gain some faction for the system to recognise me as Imperial, it's worked for others too - although not in every case. I wonder if your problem might also be solved in the same way. Run a couple of Valerian missions to gain a few extra Jabba faction (if you're capped, try killing some Jabba to lower your faction and then Valerians to bump it back up again). It may just take this change in the records for it to read your faction properly, or something like that. (I'm no programmer, btw. This is pure speculation!)

Failing that, try after the server restart each day - I know that even those for who the Talmont quest didn't work even after running some faction, were able to do it a day or two later.

All I can really advise is to keep trying. One thing's for sure though, Hutt faction isn't necessary and there isn't currently any way to gain Hutt faction in game. (Ok, that's two things!)

Hope it helps, if anyone knows any different then I'm sure many people (including myself) would appreciate you posting here.

Regards,

Korla.

P.S. You may want to post this on the Core Systems and/or Game Guides forum as well, if you haven't already. I'm sure there are many more people there who will have come across the question before.
