Back when JtL first was annouced, I started brainstorming ideas that would tie SL into a space setting. But after talking it over with community members, other correspondents and the devs it made much more sense to keep the two seperate.
Space only commands would be cool, but it would take away from what we are on the ground. Although, after everything we have been through it seems like we would have a better home in space.
The Squadron Leader idea is still not totaly bogus though. I still love JtL and it would be great to have a better grouping system up there.

We already have the only ability that works in space as far as I know with sys messege.

So I was wondering how teh SL community would feel about SL during the revamp to get more than just ground game stuff? Currently /sys works in space (even with color coding), but I was wondering if you think we should also get that /volleyfire target painting thing to appear on a designated target. Basically it makes it easier in identifyingwhich TIE fighter/X-wing you want your squad to attack?
I'm not asking for mods as that might make it unbalanced, but just as a communication tool, it would be pretty nice.
Thoughts?

I'm not a space player really... but it does sound like a funky thing - only problem being that other professions may wish to see applications of their own skills in space - perhaps with some justification... and then before you know it you've got enough for a mini-publish. Again that would be cool, I'd love to see the game developed at that sort of pace 
Right now I'm still trying to get colours back into my /sys - post CU I can't seem to get them to work again, and I recently had to deleted all profiles (which includes macros) due to a bug

Just in case no one reads the thread basically entitled "State of our Profession", I'll repost here.
I'm not the type that starts complaining and I don't really want to start, because when people start complaining to me, I just tune them out. But...since I'm technically at a stopping point in the game with the character, maxed out on weapon xp and combat xp, I'm not really sure what comes next. I could go for Jedi, it took me 8 months to just reach MSL, could take me another 8 months or so to do the Jedi thing. Jedi aside, I'm considering moving to the next weapon profession, that of Carbineer. Though I guess it's just quests. For me, I guess it's just getting to Master title that's the fun and adventure.
As such, maybe it's time to actually start "playing". You know, actually "play" the character, do some in character stuff.
Going along with the state of our profession, maybe along the way I'll see more stuff that we truly *need* rather than what we just "want"; I want a nuke that only SLs can use along with tanks and subs along with god powers, with the ability to defeat god. That only we can use. We've managed to come this far without getting the profession nerfed, maybe even stop looking at the game and start looking at other games and see about campagins that are military orieented. In as such, I feel that we should have for a bonus for adding either party members or adding npcs or even though this has been discussed in great lenght and a lot of people don't like the idea, bonus to the number of faction pets. Heck, I'm CL80 and my droids are all cl18 by themselves. Oooo big threat there. Another couple of things that may be used has all been discussed, ground formations, directing targeting and in this section, some space stuff. If not giving us to much control, how about putting some sort of marker showing where to form at during a formation, some how by making it like the auto pilot in space by then making the character get to that formation point but stil letting the player be able to shoot change armor or whatever.
I was talking with a friend. I told him and he agreed that instead of giving us new stuff when things are broke, fix it then impliment the new stuff. You can't make an attachment that works to a thing already broken.
Well, before this message times out again, thank goodness for copy and paste! I'll end it for now. There's my *real* 2 cents worth. I'll add more when I get a chance.
