why does /volleyfire only give a %15 debuff when armor break gives a %50 debuff? volley fire is restricted to members in a group while armor break is a true debuff which lets everyone hit the target for more damage.

DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL? shouldn't volley fire be a larger debuff, say %15.2

the more i learn about other professions in this game the more i hate the developers for what they did with squadleader, at first i thought they limited the volley fire defuff because they were worried it might be overpowered, but then how do you give a profession a %50 debuff.

One of my guildmates is a swordsman (until they get jedi initiate) and we've found the vollyefire/armorbreak combo to be pretty darned effective. However, I have noticed that armorbreak doesn't stick every single time we attack a critter/npc, while the only thing limiting volleyfire sticking is whether or not the cooldown timer is done. That alone could be one reason why armorbreak has a higher debuff, simply because it doesn't work all the time.

Besides, if you're running a group that's half full or over, and they know what they're doing on a hunting trip/mission, calling volleyfire with that many people is more than effective. Add in armorbreak and critters/npcs drop like flies.

(of course, I am curious to see what happens when I try this combo on a krayt hunt lol)

but also, being a swordsman and having a full group, all group members benefit from the %50 debuff to the critter which makes it hugely more effective than volleyfire.

I don't think volleyfire should be as large a debuff as armor break because it is a ranged debuff, but

%15 compared to %50 seems like a large desparity considering squadleaders main role is group support.

a swordsman can benefit directly from armor break considering the large amount of damage he's able to apply, a squadleader is dependant on his group to apply damage in most cases because of our limited mods and specials.

I would pretend to sound smart and give a witty explaination, but then, I can't think of a good reason it's that way either. Before the respec debacle I had teras kasi with SL, and armor break would stick most of the time if I timed the toolbar warm up right.
