If the team is to stupid to want the SL bonuses, they don't deserve them.

We have some issues, this is not among them, if we get precious attention and coding time, we shouldn't waste it for something like this.

Again, I agree. Hence why I'm going to be going hunting the next four days and I'll only accept those that will let me do my job. I don't need trigger happy idiots running around in my group while I'm only able to use my carbine. In that way, I may as well not even be anything else but a Master Carbineer and whatever CL that just that profession gives you. And if anyone asked me why I don't finish off, with the rest of my skill points, I'd just tell them that there wasn't any point in finishing it off. No one will/would cooperate so what's the point in finishing off the skill points?

QFE

it is always worthwhile having an SL lead a group so if they are to stupid not to allow it... to hell with em.

(volley fire = 15% damage bonus)

7 x 15% = +105% more damagethen if they are by themselves . That means they do 5% more damage overall then a 8 person group and this of course assumes the SL adds no damage which generally they can do to an extent.

And that is just one ability (with higher defences and accuracy etc the benefits increase dramatically)

I was going Squad Leader a while back, but quickly gave it up. The problem I found was people were not willing to give me group leader. This in-turn rendered my profession useless. So my idea is this...

Allow the Squad Leader in the group to use his/her special skills, and give his/her defensive bonuses to the group WITHOUT having to be group leader. If there is two or more Squad Leaders in a group, the higher ranking Squad Leader gets to give his/her bonuses to the group. If two Squad Leaders have equal skills, then allow the game to choose either/or Squad Leader randomly but give a system message to give awareness to that Squad Leader. If that Squad Leader does not wish to give his/her bonuses to the group, then he/she will have the option to pass on the ability to the Squad Leader next in ranking.

I think this system would help bring back an excellent, but rarely seen profession.

Just an idea.
