Hello all. I'm working up in Squad leader at the moment and plan to go all the way. Im that keen I've even picked up a Dawnsorrow Rifle for once i reach the peak.

One thing i was keen to investigate was a specific skill with SL that i've seen used brilliantly against groups that im with when there is a SL on the opposition.

Heres the deal me and the troops are raiding a npc base. Going at it slow and steady with a bit of the old fashioned hard yakka with the nasty npcs inside. There are several other bases nearby and a enemy SL is able to bring forth all of the NPC's standing about outside in a merry trail of awesome destruction behind. After having a quick look at the skills in the SL tree i can't figure out how it works as we were overt.

Anyways can any of you people help me

Cheers.

Welcome on the team!

Eh... honestly, i'm on the profession for a while, but still i'd know no SL ability to do that. The actual way to do that would be to draw one of your team (or anybody of your faction allignment) to the NPCs... and then have him return into your team.

(The "perfect" way for this abuse would be, a smuggler of the same faction of you turns up as combatant, just runs into the NPCs of the other base so they hunt him, runs to your group and feigns death. Not exactly good roleplaying, but what to say... i've seen members of the biggest rebel guild on my server to show the imperial sign, i know people who just for limited time change side to get the piloting badges, etc... so, i consider it a cheap and dirty tour but technically possible. But it's not urgently necessary, luring one of your team into range of those NPCs is enough...)

i wonder if perhaps it was Volley Fire directed onto the nearest member of your team. assuming of course that it generates the same amount of hate/aggro as it does when used on an NPC the range might have been just right for his NPC 'buddies' to pick up on the hate directed at him and move to engage your team.

for instance, enemy SL is say 75 m from nearest team member. he drops VF on him. that player reacts to the 'attack' (switching targets, attempts auto attack) but since the range is 75m there is no actual combat from either side. then the NPCs pick up on the aggro and move to range and engage your team.

thats the only thing i can think of. SL doesnt have any ability to control NPCs other than factional pets, just as any other player does. sounds like he cleverly found a way to defend his bases.

oh, and welcome to the team!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Turth be told the enemy SL was a rebel and he sure proved it after we sucessfully destroyed the base in question. Im wondering perhaps since i posted orginally if faction rank has anything to do with it.

Faction rank, as far as i know, also doesn't allow you to command the NPCs of a base. You can buy your own trooper (or even several, but only have one active a time...) but that's it, according to my knowledge.
