I am currently a Master Pistoleer / Master Combat Medic / and Doc 0004. Now I am thinking of going back to MSL but I am wondering what is a good PvP template as now I do more PvP then PvE.

ive never done this myself, but i would think that MSL / MCM /elite rangedwould be pretty good. as a MSL, you're support already. make yourself better at it with the heals and debuffs from MCM. pick up pisoleer or carbineer with the left over points for a little offense.

MSL isn't about ubar power and soloing Dragons. Its about leading a group of players that do that for you.

Best bet for doing damage in PVP though that I have found is MSL/MCarb/MMark/Medic0010. You could do rifles instead. But again...this isnt an "ubar power kill dragons and slay lots of PCs" template. Its a "Squad Leader" template.

They're right on, squad leader is about support and leadership, so think along those lines and build your character. Right now I'm master SL, master combat medic, and 0004 pistoleer. I can squeeze by on my own, but I know my roll, gotta keep my group kickin. The closest thing to actual toe to toe fighting in pvp I can think of that might work is MSL, Master elite ranged profession, and 4000 combat medic...doc just takes too many skill points. Also make sure you're in a group or group with a droid and tell it to go sit in some shadey corner out of the way.

Same thing I use. This template can take down anything that doesnt have healing and has a chance at takeing down those with weak healing those Doctors/tkms combos or simliar to that the carbs/combatmedics things will kill u quick. They simply are designed for solopvp u are group support pvp. They will simply outheal u or outdamage u either way u r dead

I thought about this but I am not to sure how it will be at PvP. After MSL and MCM you only have enough points for one branch of and elite ranged profession. This mean you have no power attacks at all. With my current template I can be used in a support role but the combination of pistol and CM is very deadly in PvP, plus I can solo ancient krayts with this template. I am just interested in knowing how much success people have had with MSL.

If you plan to go for PvP, i would drop the MMark, as it's really not all about firepower. You'll sooner or later end up in some bigger PvP action which includes some basebusting, as SL you're even quite likely to have your own basebusting group or at least be very welcome in one.

You should rather replace the MMarks with some basics in Bio-Engineer, Commando or Bounty Hunter. (Alternatively, build for MSL/MSmuggler, that's also some good crowd control and two busting profession filled with a third possible to include.) And since the BE is the hardest to find on the battlefield, i would advise to take that one. Drop the remaining skillpoints into medic xx1x and get yourself some nice shirt with +15 healing efficiency or so and you're even able to help out as backup healer. (Not utterly mighty healing, but sometimes every bit helps...)

I had it already more than once, that my novice-BE "saved the day" when comming over a hostile base. (I was on several actions organized by a base-buster template. At some time, the base-buster left but the team was still pretty big, so we continued. BEs and Commandos are the ones who are not that much around, so better be prepared to fill in for at least one.)

Base busting is a major thing for me. However that being said I already have a base busting team and do not really need to any of those skills. The reason I ask is one of our members (former nuker of the group) picked up MSL and it was great to have him the group, but he is thinking of going melee now. Also after the great sucess I am having with my template others in my guild are going with this template. I for some reason like to be different. One of the big major reasons I wanted MCM was for the rezzing. Now if other people in my group have it I won't need it. I was a SL a while back and loved it (MBH / MRM / SL 0404). I was thinking of going back to SL but MSL (is there really that much of a benefit of master over 0404) but I am now usually the first target in PvP and want to make sure I will last long enough to help out my group.

For some reason Jedi and well just about every other professions hate CM. I was in a group the other day and everyone in the group was either a CM or a Jedi with healing. I don't anyone the whole time ever dropped below 50% health.

I'm liking MSL/MCarb/CM 4000.

Yup and not only that, it's the spamming debuffers/paralyze/rooters. I dropped MCM on one of my chars because it didn't really fit my style and it got a little boring, but I grabbed CM 4000 to further roleplay as a supporter with my MSL char (I was originally thinking medic 0440 but I get extra HE in the 4000 tree).
