havent seen this mentioned before, at least not in this context. i confirmed with guildmates, but have yet to make the arrangments myself (hopefully tonight).

if you bought the digital download of RotW you got the Varactyl. this and other pet mounts can be trained by CH's to be able to group with you (this is the guild-confirmed part). so, what this means is that us SL's that have a pet such as this will never, ever be without a group.

yes, i know we'd rather lead players, but there are times that is either not possible, or not desired. i dont know about you, but sometimes, i like to solo. so now, we'll have a solo-group sitting in our datapads allowing us to use Rally, VF, and passive mods.

sorry, if this is old news, but im excited to get online tonight and find a CH! now i can ride my group around instead of getting to my destination and having to pull him out each time

It's really old news. Some use creatures, some use droids, most who do that order the creature/droid to just "stay" at a save place...

Yeah, this goes waaayyyy back in history. Pets are better though as they don't need batteries.

well, i knew you could group with pets no problem. i've even mentioned it several times in various posts. i guess what i was most excited about it that i can group with a mount (its news to me). so now, not only can i ride it but i'm never out of a group because i can ride him. otherwise i would either have to group with a Whatever and leave him back at my house, or break the group to store him as i take a ride on my bike. the latter is why ive never really done it before.

oh, and this might be yet another reason why SL is soooo cool. kiss my squad leading butt, Group XP Division!! heh heh heh

Just be sure to store and ungroup with them if you get into an overt battle. Just yesterday I found out the hard way that if your grouped with a pet and you get killed, whoever you were fighting will still be flagged when you come out the clone center. Was embarassing that I accidently used an exploit, disturbing that it was soo easy and unintentional and now I have to worry about storeing my pets when I run into overts. There arent always willing alliance around to group with so I'd group with my mount or droid (without being grouped half my build is uneffective), but live and learn I guess.

True on the batteries, though a droid seems to do some decent damage and is ranged so I keep it far enough away from me so it doesn't get hammered by area attacks that my poor Varactyl couldn't last long against.
