Thread: Just saying hi and a funny story to tell

I've been lurking here on the squad leader forums for a few months now and have been MSL for just as long but I figured it's time for me to officially say hello. I must say I'm enjoying it a lot as I have paired carbines with plenty of success with SL and just now have changed over to pistols which has worked nicely. Anyhow, on to my funny story.

I was running around Theed last night looking for something going on when another master squad leader popped in. We chat for a while in spacial about our profession and faction(imperial all the way!). As we are both about to board the shuttle to head to our respective destinations I mention to him how nice it was to see another imperial squad leader. In the background at the ship terminal I saw a guy pop a couple of question marks above his head in confusion at the mention of squad leader. Funniest thing I've seen in a while and we both got a good laugh out it.

It's always a treat to see another squad leader as we usually stop to chat about the profession and tactics for a few. Except for the rebel on our server who is a hybrid jedi/SL since our meetings usually involve me meeting his lightsaber repeatedly. Oddest hybrid jedi I've seen yet but he says it works pretty well. Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for all the tricks I've picked up reading this forum.

Welcome aboard. It's a hard road to follow. Sometimes I wonder myself if until it gets fixed, should I just respec out of it. Why is ifor a much later discussion, I've got other toons, one on Valcyn as a matter of fact, but a total non-combatant, well, Novice Rifleman, but that will be dropping here as soon as I make some money (going Shipwright). Anyways, I look at the other professions and loom at the character, then at the professions and nothing else fits for what I have already established as the character, plus, nothing BUT SL interests me. I've worked to hard in game to get here and I have worked to hard here (see the link in my sig, lol), but I love the profession and I'm still trying to get a hang of the game since the two that brought me here are no longer with us so learning has been more challenging and my guild, well, there aren't many on either and on Sunday, the toon will be a year old. All in all, I'd rather leave the server than leave the profession, that's how dedicated to it I am. The one thing that would be hard for me to do, would be to leave behind friends that I have made there that actually matter, such as Loki (here on the forums). He's been great help and even though I wouldn't be leaving him per se, in a sense, I would be. Anyways, I love the profession I love what I have established with the toon and I know that the only thing that I'd respec to, would be to Rifleman, since I've already Mastered Pistoleer and Carbines. But there is also more to say about everything.

But yes, the question mark thing is hilarious.

But, I'm running late.

I explained to a guy for 10 minutes one time what a SL was since he never saw one before...

Hmm, actually i had something with the SL somehow involved... went to Fort Tusken for the Nyms Starmap stuff... and on the way picked up a guy who also went there. Lv. 16, told me that he just got badly beaten by the tuskens. I took him into team and he was like "wow, i can beat that one now" around every second corner.

In the end he noticed my title and thought it's the Squad Leader bonuses which gave him that good fighting capabilities. It hurt a bit that i had to admit that while SL bonuses help him the most of the powering up he got was from simply being teamed up with a Lv. 80 person.
