Depends completely on what you find fun..Probably here more than any proffesion. SL is entirely based on how you want to play it. There really isnt' any "best" combo for SL. I've found that most do take a ranged weapon so they can contribute to the combat and many take Carbine for the stat effect shots but that doesn't mean its the best. I also know many who take Doc or Medic or even CH.

4) What are everyones experiences with being a squad leader?

SL is very much a play style more than anything else. In the absence of any really great skills, it us up to you to figure out how to find the fun in it and play it. For me, my absolutely favorite moments in game are when I am leading a group to an objective and exercising control, calling targets, curing dizzy and leading us to victory. I am not a role player, but I do "get into" my role as a SL and do what I call pseudo-role playing. You group leadership is based on your real life leadership abilities. So this job isnt' for everyone, but it can provide some of the most rewarding experiences you may encounter in this game.
