Thread: New Professions based off of SL

Hello everyone,
Alot of discussion has come up now that TH is giving us some time with posting how we would like to see SL changed. Some have suggested radical changes and some have just made a suggestion or two. Our very perception of SL is split into many segments. I have noticed that some of the changes/suggestions are so radical as they might just be better off pushing for a new Profession. Some have mentioned that they do not think we are thinking outside the box enough, so here is outside of the box. Post what you would like to see, even go so far as the trees or just talk about the concept. Heck, if there are enough ideas then maybe you can have the drive to push for it to become an actual profession.

Here are some of the things I would suggest:
Combat Engineer:
Here is the Profession that is a true hybred. This is based off of the idea that you want to place fortifications in the game. It is hard to think of this Profession as to not being made up of these 3 trees: Survival, Enginering, and Combat Experiance. I know 1 of those needs to be removed so I suggest either Combat or Survival. Can't have an Engineer without Engineering!
If you remove Combat (Survival & Engineering), I would say this Profession would be more about creating defensive objects. You could even allow this Profession to do things like create walls at player cities with the ability to place Turrets for Player City defences and spawns for NPC militia (Neutral, Imperial, or Rebel). Another thing to add might be Novice Architect as a requirement.
Now if you took off Survival (Combat & Engineering), you have the guy who plants explosives and destroys Foritifications, removes Minefields, and is what I would replace BE for base destructions with. I would actually give this guy 1 tree for grenades as one of the few SL spin-offs with a combat tree to show this Profession's skill at handling explosives. This could also be someone who could plant minefields as well.
I see both of these professions as a counter to each other (one builds the other destroys) and could be easily balanced, much less fun Professions. Also with the way I built them, you only need two trees and thus will have a few more points to spend. Still might not be able to pull off Commando or BH as your other profession, but I can see both of these appealing to people.
Droid Commander:
I have heard/read alot of suggestions concerning Droids. As I don't see SL as a straight out solution to appease those who like the idea, I suggest this. This would be another Profession that replaces Scout with Artisan, but unlike what was suggested above and just have 2 base trees, this one would have Combat Experiance, Engineering, and Novice DE. Yeah, makes this a easy Profession for a DE to get, but I don't have that big of a problem with it. This Profession is pretty much a CH for Droids (and only droids) thus making them highly specialized. If you saw Episode I, the big flaw would be the same thing, if the DE drops, the droids stop fighting (he is, after all, controling them). But I think if they came out with a wide selection of decent droids (specially those skinny ones) this would be a decent Profession. They could even come out with the Tanks if they get that far in the game to release it.
