I been a squad leader before, At first I though it would be cool and that it would have some impact on the battlefield (like only SL could give orders) How wrong I was
As the state of the game is now any professionbuffedup andhigh on moun and legless from drink can solo very high missions, so who needs squad leaders in the group. I think it is just a waste of points to be a SL. I got some Ideas which may make more people take up officer training to become a SL.
1. We need the combat revamp fast so no one can solo a krayt dragon or rancor.
2. We need groups toplaya more important partin thegame(only certain missions should be given when a SL is in the group).
3. It should be that only SL can wear certain armors, clothesor use long range weapons e.g Rocket laucher, rank for shoulder.
4. Give better bonuses to groups and make SL give a command tostop a player from spamming a lair.
5. And onlySL should get certain faction perks maybe like a AT-ST or other items.
6. Less exps given so it would take longer to master.
7. Maybe only SL can talk to high ranking officers?

If you know how to use it SL can dominate PvP.

Just learn the profession and all uses of the skills you have, even the broken ones

First off I have to concur that SLs rock in PvP period over and out. If you do your job right a team without a SL versus a team with a SL will lose, if you lose then you did not do your job. If thats the case then I would look for a new career because mabe SL is not for you. Every prof has its shortfalls on thier own, but combine them together with a strong SL and you have a non stop killing machine. I get so many tells thanking me for getting rid of dizzy and other state effects it is not funny, our job is to keep the group in figting form not be the ultimate killing machine. Once you realize this then you will become a better squad leader.

You can even put your skillpoints somewhere else if you want to lead a squad by just fighting. BTW I can't keep an eye over the combat situation if I'm fighting and when I want to do a command it will be executed to late to help because it comes into my combat queue.
And to tell you the truth i'm not staying behind i run in between the fights, just yelling my orders. When I get attacked (not much) the attacker get's a big bullseye on his head and drop down before he knows what happens. Just train with a set squad and your skills will come more in handy.
I have to say I almost solely hunt with guildmates when I use SL skills because if you form a random group the most people don't know what powers you can wield when you work together and get organized. Also on the server I play the most people don't know the profession SL, it is rare and not known. This is also an advancement.

Usually I try to run through my SL powers when I add people to my group that are unfamiliar with what commands I can perform. Of course this can only be done when time allows, when prepping for a hunt or a PvP Raid. If you are defending, you don't get much of the needed time to prep people for what to watch for. I try to let people know not to run away when the retreat goes off, but you still end up with a few people who are confused.
I have been a master SL/ master Rifleman since December and I am still learning by experience. Always analyze how something can be done better and try again.
