Thread: Master Squad Leader + Master Bounty Hunter + 4400 Rifles = Uh oh...

I don't know what you guys think, but this looks incredibly fun to me.

Using the new CU skill calculator:
MSL, MBH, 4400 Rifles, 0400 Enhanced Reflexes (you can probably swap 4400 rifles for whatever you want too).

Drawback: Your only armor cert is Assault. Recon will have crappy mods since you're not a master rifleman. However, in PvE and GvG you will be a melee-tanking beast and can unleash hell with your rifles, group and BH specials. You'll also be moderately proficient with any other pistols and carbines you might be certed for, although rifles are your specialty.

Personally, I'm lookin forward to making Master SL/Master Carbineer/0400 Bounty Hunter, with 18 points leftover to "play" with.

MSL / MBH / Rifle 4400 was my thought too!! i was really loving the prospect of those melee and ranged defense mods. right now as a MSL / MP my def mods were like +20. i was getting beat down by nearly anything. and if got into melee with a big mob (krayt, gorax, high end rebels, etc)...well lets just say i'm getting close to Master Cloner.

As an outsider looking in here... you should consider dropping Ranger 0/0/4/0 into the mix... because then you could /areatrack players too! - Great for a BH

oops. forgot to mention how great it will be to use the INTIMIDATOR pistol!!


while i'm at it, i might as well share with you all some number crunching i did to find this combo's best weapons (there are more but this is the best). this list is smaller compared to other elite ranged profs, but i think very well rounded:

Why does SL use Survival and not Exploration in that Character builder? I thought They were takin out survival and leaving Exploration in.

I am personally looking at MSL, MCommando, Pistoleer 0004, and Enhanced Reflex 3000. This puts my ranged and melee defense up to around 200 each before the grouped defense bonuses.

My CU template will be:


Master BH

Master Pistoleer

Marksman 0404

Scout 4004

Squad Leader 0404

and the last 4 skill points in FS melee defense.


This template will yeild the following stats:


melee defense +235

ranged defense +235/+260

pistol defense +50



general ranged speed+80

pistol speed +45

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

totalspeed with pistol equipped+125



general accuracy +190

pistol accuracy +40

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

total accuracywith pistol equipped +230

does anyone know how the squad leader speed bonuses will be affected by speed caps? WIll they over rule them like the defense bonuses did before? And does anyone know what the speed caps (if any) will be?

No speed caps - but there will be points where having a higher speed score will do less and less for you. that should answer all your questions.
