OK...i don't post much, but i'm seriously confused...why after the 10/8/3 patch am I not getting Sqd Ldr XP?!...i've tried regrouping, changing some group options, etc...nothing seems to work....do I have to be using Sqd Ldr skills directly for the XP, and if so, now is a novice SL with only /sys going to get XP?! Please reply with some possible answers and thanks!

I was getting squad leader xp last night, no problems. Wasn't using any SL abilities.

This is an issue mentioned in another thread. They changed how the system calculates xp and now if you are up against your combat xp cap you simply earn 1 or no combat xp (before I believe it still calculated earned xp but didn't apply or report it.) What this means is that you cannot earn anymore SL xp while your combat xp is maxed because SL xp is based on the combat xp you earn.

He is correct. I have raised this issue to the Devs on the "Bugs and Problems with 10/8 Patch" thread on the correspondent forums. The thread has over 100 replies from correspondents alone. I've PMed the SL Dev also to let him know.

You could try untraining and retraining your highest level combat xp based skill a few times. I believe you lose some percentage of your xp every time you untrain a skill (as in you dont get the full amount back for cashing in the skill).. That should open you up for some more combat xp inflow.

i was maxed also and i dropped some combat skill to compensate and that didnt work either. now i get 1exp in combat and no SL experience. programmers who got C-'s, should not be hired to work for SOE. ugh. FIX THIS ALREADY. they fix everything else with a hotfix but not this. **edit**.

Um I still get squad xp from my group but I cannot use any of the combat commands like rally or volley fire.... I get a system message that says the following...."You must be the leader of a group to use this skill" Not sure what the deal is when they fixed the group looting problem they must have created another problem that affected only us.... I submitted an ingame bug about the whole thing.

Forgot to mention this: I can still use my system message skill which I must admit is pretty handy when my group or guid chat decides it no longer wants to work heh so I think it just may be all of the combat related abilities for some wierd reason.

I don't think it's just the cap because I encountered another problem. I was trying to use /rally, and even though I was the leader according to my group members, and I could use /steadyaim and /sysgroup, when I used /rally I got a "You must be the group leader to use this ability" message. I tried regrouping, tried having someone else group me and make me leader, still didn't recognize me. So if it's a cap problem, then I'm enountering a second one as well. As for the cap, that's just plain insane. I don't have any more points available unless I dump things, why should being capped in carbine or combat keep me from earning squad leader XP. That's nuts.

the way combat xp is calculated off of your weapons xp. when my weapons xp capped last night, i started getting 1 combat xp. this is where your problem is. (where the bug is, but that's not your problem, it's the devs )

so if you drop a non-combat xp skill, but a weapons xp skill, and relearn it, that should solve your problem(s).
