Hi everyone,

I am an aspiring squad leader on the Gorath server. I have read all these posts and I realize there are a lot of problems withthe profession, but Istill want to go for it. I really like Kudaark Somtaaw's skill tree vision post and I hope squad leader becomes something like that eventually. Also, the bunker idea is great.

Does anyone have any tips on making the Wilderness survival scout tree go faster? I am half way to levelthree, but its just taking forever. Thats all I have left to finish.

It has been said many times before, but I suggest that you set-up camp and then do something else, watch TV, read a book, whatever, and check it every thirty minutes or so and set up a new camp. Even though the larger camps that become available take more resources to build, they have a higher cap on XP, so for your purposes, it is worth it.

I know you have read about the dire situation of the Squad Leaders, but I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't warn you, pick another profession. Don't check this forum in the hope of aDev response. It will only make you not like the game.

Thank you for the warning. However, I am really just love the idea of the profession to much. I know the changes we ask for are a long long way away. The Dev concern about the problem is minimal (that broken promise about the 14 Oct hotfix hurts) but, I want to go ahead with it anyway.

On the brighter side, because it takes so long to get the XP up, I can fool around with other classes while I work my way up.

hmm I can't find my previous post about this so I'll just have to recreate it.

1) get 2 general crafting kits and a TON or hides and bones. you'll see why 2 shortly.

2) make your best tent

3) go make a camp. shout your loc, tell your friends and guildmates about your grind.

4) set a timer for 15 minutes, make it less if people stop by your camp

5) while that timer is counting down, open crafting kit 1 and make your best tent in practice mode. (practice mode gives you a slight bit more xp and yes crafting tents gives the same xp) make sure you create one tent not in practice mode to replace the one you used to make this camp.

6) repeat steps 2 through 5

If you have a fishing pole and some foraged bait, I suggest setting up your tent next to water and fishing as it gives pretty good survival xp. If you are going on a raid or PA event anytime soon I suggest making a bunch of camps beforehand and using them every time you stop with the group as more people makes you hit the xp cap of your camp much quicker.

one other quick way to grind wilderness survival exp is create a hunting group on an advanced planet and ask your group that you be the one to set up camp. the more people in your group the faster you will cap your exp from a camp site.

also i found hunting squals on rori and camping in between kills a good way of gringing both scout and wilderness survival exp.
