So...it continues...

Dev's and Designers don't care of us...

In the December Patch Notes (the big patch with Vehicules) there is nothing,NOTHING, about us...

Not a fix,not a new feature,not an issue...NOTHING !!!

There is lot of New things for TKA (sure they are not enough strong, they need lot of love from devs !!!),there is the new CH tree, the new BE crafting tree...but NOTHING for us !!!

I am starting to think about surrend SL now, raise Pistoleer instead, and come back to SL when there will be some changes...i will wait to finish to raise MAster Smuggler (need lots of pistol xp) and then i will choose to surrend SL or not...

Shame on them !! They want to kill us !!!

I've had patience since I got the skill, not long after launch. I will continue to be patient with the DEVs, though it seams they all have large phaluses in their ears and eyes. They cannot hear our words or see the problems with this class.

It should be noted that these patch notes are for TestCenter for yesterday.

The changes do NOT reflect all of the changes coming in December.

Thunderheart will be responding to every profession's top 5 as soon as he can, then we will know what is coming.

Actually, in a manner of speaking, our current "#1 issue" is getting addressed.

Personally, I don't see the HAM costs of our specials as being the #1 issue, but that's what is at the top of our list and it IS getting modified in the next patch with the overall changes to the HAM.

How the changes will actually play out is still a bit uncertain as the devs are going to be tweaking with this system constantly. FYI currently, the HAM cost for ANY special will regen in 25 seconds. Like I said, this WILL be different when it goes live, but I've already made as much of a push as is possible to get the regen modifier buffed by Squad Leaders. ...that sort of thing is closer to being my personal #1 issue than the HAM costs, actually, because that would be providing a groupsa signifigant enough service to make Squad Leaders desirable.

Any idea if the regen rates for this new system are constant, or tied to your pool regen stats?

If they're tied to pool regen stats, then they are affected by regular buffs. If they are not, then chef's Breath of Heaven would be far more effective then it currently is (since it buffs all 3 pool drain stats)

Come to think of it, (brain working overtime) this looks like a ploy to make balancing chefs easier. 1 stat for total pool, 1 stat for special rate, one stat for pool regen rate, makes defining buff types easier.

Clever DEVs (or lazy, whichever you prefer)

I'd put my eggs back in the group damage mitigation basket.

Currently the regen rates are tied specifically to the special used. Regardless of what special you use, it will regen in 25 seconds. ...but this is only the CURRENT state of affairs, the devs are completely tweaking with this so don't expect this to be the way when it goes live. The dev told me that a "buff" to the regen rate is DEFINATELY possible, but refused to comment on who might be getting this ability.

I think it will be interesting to see how armor effects all this will it lengthen the regen time or will it still just drop more HAM into the frier so to speak. I LOVE the idea of having SL's buff that particular stat, and i could see that being an awesome ability for us. I long for the day when people are yelling to find SL's when they're running missions

Sure, we've been boned in the past and ignored for far too long. That being said, it just makes sense to quit whining and let SOE fix combat first. At this point, why would we even want them to fix any of the broken or marginal bonuses that we now providein a combat system that is already slated for overhaul? Itwould be ridiculousto go promising Squad Leaders any fixes to the current broken stuff when they are already planning on changing significant portions of the combat system anyway. Seriously, how pissed would you be if they patched us now to where we should have been in July only to completely mess all that up and take it away in the December update?

My advice? Have some patience. There is no advantage in bitching about what they haven't done for us. Concentrate on what they have in store for the future. Work with Thulium to get your ideas heard. LetSOE make all those optimizations to combat and fix every other profession first. Then wait and see how they plan to integrate us as a "force multiplier" to the new streamlined system. Remember, our role after allis to make other players better fighters.

Since the devs won't do anything for us i'm surrendering SL tomorrow. I was gonna stick it out but i could use my skill points for something else.

Just FYI guys, I've been playing on Test Center with my Pistoleer/scout, and I have to tell you, the changes leave the door wide open for improvments to SL. Stick it out. I think that when they do change SL, the new combat system will really give us the potential to be a great class.
