Thread: Squad Leader down!

This is really a sad moment for me right now. I wanted to be a squad leader as soon as I bought the game. I am not one of those holo squad leaders. Moving up the SL skill tree, I was brainwashing my self into thinking it is going to be great when I get higher up. I fought thru the broken skills the ups and downs of the skills points. I proudly wear the Master Squad Leader title and have been the leader of every group i have been in for over 4 months. I know the profession like the back of my hand (unlike some people who mastered it in a few days).

Last night I have come to a realization that I havent used any squad leader commands in over 3 weeks. And you know what? The only difference I can see is that I have much more mind at the end of the fight. And for the first time in months, I let someone else be the leader of the group. There was no noticeable difference that would make joining a squad leader even desireable. I miss the Captain. He fought a long hard battle. And to what end, I don't know. We all have come up with great ideas on how to make this profession one of the best in the game, but there is no hint of these ideas are even being looked at. Not to mention whether or not SL is going to be revamped.

I am handing in my Squad Leader badge that has been soaked in blood and tears. And I pray that someday Squad Leader will be a desireable profession again. I hope to join the ranks again in the future.

Don't go. Stay. I'm not counseling patience I am counseling mule-headed stubbornness.

Remember that girl who would never go out with you, but kept you hanging on as a friend for likeever, tantalizing you just enough so that you wouldn't stop thinking about her but never intending to take it to the next level? She changed her name to Squad Leader...do yourself a favor and bail, find someone who actually appreciates and rewards you

Sad to say I am in the same boat. I hung on (for months before the new xp scheme) until mastery out of what must be sheer stubborness. There is no love coming for us in the forseeable future though so the first holocron I find is going to be the end of my Master SL title. I wonder what it will be like to have a second profession that works? Come on holo...no chef, no chef, no chef, no chef.....

Remenber: the pointy hat doesn't make you a squad leader, it's your play style and personality that do that. This profession was supposed to facilitate great leadership. It doesn't deliver, and until it does you're just roleplaying. If you really wanted to be a good leader and actually HELP your squad out you would drop the title and pick up Doctor or something. It's the unselfish thing to do in the end, for the sake of your squad...

Hasn't this happened with almost every profession now? It's bugged, broken, or doesn't work like it should. But unfortunately, only the more popular professions (*cough* BH *cough* CH *cough*) get fixed. It makes me sad. What do we need mounts for, when there are STILL broken professions out there? Please, devs. Do something.

Yeah, I too have been a Squad Leader from the very beginning. I too have held on with hopes and patience. And I too finally dropped all my SL "skills" last night. It is kinda sad.

Say it ain't so Syd! Well, the good news is its easy to get back to master. The bad news is too many Masters are dropping still.

We've all heard "SOE is saying cool things don't drop" before. Vem said it a few months back. Nothing happened. So I'm not going to say that. I do want to say that you've made it this far, you've obviously been quite effective to this point...there's no reason to sacrifice the skills now.

If changes come you'll at least be able to say you stuck with it. I've been playing on TC a little and that's been fun. My suggestion is to put down your primary, get all you friends and guildmates together and go play alts for a little while. Get away from SL for a little while. I'm grinding marksman on TC and its actually kind of fun again. Doing some different stuff. It helps.

I hate to admit it but I dumped like 6 or 7 boxes, and I was the second Master on Lowca, as far as I know. I kept Tactics to IV for the title and the point cap, but it was pretty sad for me when I did it. I felt like I had been defeated, as if the game were like BODYSLAMM and I was powerless to stop it.

I was in beta 3 and since then I knew that I wanted to be a squad leader and here I am Master after X amount of months after lauch and I'll admit that I don't play this game nearly as much as I use to (**edit** you xbox live!) even though I can't rebember the last time I even used a SL ability I'm gonna stick with it to the end. That by its self would be very heart warmning knowing that I am part of a select few that has stuck w/ SL through thick and thin

Same here, Was SL as a week after the game and was the first master on kettemoor. I too dropped my SL skills 4 days ago. I hadn't used any of my skills other than /sys in 4 months.

I will pick up the reigns again as the changes start to go to test. But until then i have to retire my position.

Try the speeders on TC. They fly over the water quite well. They don't jump the waterfalls in Theed though...I wanted to fly off those at full speed. Sigh...
