As you may know, we are anxiously awaiting developer responses to our previous requests for sweeping changes to the Squad Leader profession. I honestly expect to have some solid results by tonight or tomorrow. This means that I will soon be put to work as your correspondent "for real" and begin crafting a new report on the profession. I will try to gather most of my information from the "official" discussion threads, but if you folks have anything else to add feel free to get my attention here.


Early this morning, I had the priviledge of meeting Kevin "Q3PO" O'Hara on Test Center so that he could sponsor me into the Correspondent PA. I talked with him briefly and he told me that he is now personally playing a Squad Leader and is looking forward to reading my report... For those who still believe that SOE is ignoring our profession entirely, this is a great indication to the contrary. Also, I believe Thunderheart is planning to soon be giving us a taste of what's to come in the next few months which should include improvements to Squad Leader. Thisshould be expected because as of now, everything that was previously listed as "In Development" is now bumped to "In Test" or is Live, so it's quite reasonable to expect some new carrots.


I really appreciate all the positive and constructive ideas that have been brought out lately, but please keep up the great work!! If you have ideas or suggestions that you want included in the next report, be sure to grab my attention. PM's work, but posting in this forum is better so we can all contribute to hashing out the details.

I hear you there ob194. Lot of water under the bridge. At this point the best we can hope for is to just go forward with things. I'm not trying to SOE cheerlead, but there is some cool stuff in the works, as TH hinted in one of his posts. A complete combat pass which we are hoping, cross your fingers, SL will figure into.

The whole point of this correspondant program is to further improve the game. I am sure that any past information will be taken intoconsideration but we need to move forward and try to get our profession help in any way we can. Thulium and Dilune, I am glad we have players as dedicated as you to back us. Thanks for everything you are doing.

Hint to them to do something about the mobility tree, IMHO seems kimda pointless now that we all have mounts and soon to be vehicles

Taking away our terrain negotiation bonuses would be like setting us on fire and throwing us out the window. Right now it is hands down the most valuable thing we've got, with /sys being a close second. My Jedi need it badly, and anytime we're pvp'ing or big game hunting on the rougher planets, the terrain negotiation is an absolute must have.

All I can say is, lots of draftees showing up.... Introducing the idea of us being Faction Pet Creature handlers.... Bugs the hell out of me for one.... We lead people, thats our role. Not pets. I don't want to see squad leaders running around with faction pets instead of people... That defeats the very point of Squad Leader

I am sure that they will fix us one day but I am not going to get excited till I see Squad Leader update on the Luanch Pad update notes.

I couldn't have said it better. The've carrot dangled other professions as well as us since release. I want results! Or a sweeter looking carrot.

I for one think that the mobility line has been made worthless with the intro of pets, and when vehicles get here, it's even more gone. (Boy are speeder bikes fun, go play on TC for a bit) I think that the scout mobility requirements should be removed, and the mobility tree reworked, since that's now as useless as form up, or boost morale. I still think we need to revisit the Squad Bunker idea, as well as start being creative in NEW ideas for the profession. I've seen some good posts i.e. unlocked abilities, and SL specific weapons. So, I think we can stop with the complaining, and get down to the business of comming up with new stuff.
