Currently, you cannot issue SL commands while on a mount. I think this should be allowed.

This is a tough one. Though I am a squad leader, I think to allow that would invite a great deal of additional heartache. For example,"Then why can't I /aim when my mount is stationary". Or a host of other abilities that exist in other professions, which could conceivably be done on a mount. Don't think it's such a good idea.

I agree. But I don't want to hear other classes whining "They get to why don't we?!"... Hmm...

Actually, nevermind, I would like to hear other classes being jealous of something we have.

Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, other classes can stuff it. Every good thing they do for us is potentially good for everyone.

i was just about to send a PM to thulium about this. I woke up last night in the middle of a dream (pretty bad huh) thinking abotu why i couldnt issue orders from my lesser Bol on Yavin last night.

MOST of our "abilities" are nothing more than inspiring verbal shouts, commands, or "supportive" gestures to invigourate your men. Theres absolutely NO reason you shouldn tbe able to issue commands such as "Steady!" "Formup!" "Rally!" or "Retreat" while mounted.

Throughout history commanders have led battles from tanks, horseback, camel-back, airplane, combat-ship, etc

no reason we shouldnt be able to direct combat in the same way.

I do agree that a bunch of other classes would complain...but tugh crap, your a COMMANDER.COMMANDING should be allowed from anywhere as far as im concerned. It isnt like your tryin to spin a piek around your back in a circle while galloping.

Yes we need to be able to issues commands while mounted. It would really improve our abilites alot.

As it stands now I have to ride into combat mounted, then stop. Climb off my Kaadu. Issue my commands, then get back on and hope they havent shot my mount to slow me down.

Come on this should never have been a problem to beging with if devs hadnt screwed something new up.

Let other Professions cry foul. Send them to me when they want to and Ill show them a nasty trick I learned of dropping all most 800 mind points in a matter of 5 to 8 senconds flat. Had budy thats a carbineer say that was bad. hehe. Now thats a compliment.

Seriously, I do think this is a good idea for most of our skills. If/when we get actual COMBAT abilities, they couldn't be used from a mount without being truly overpowering, but all our current skills like /rally, /formup, /retreat, /boostmorale, /steadyaim.That leaves/volleyfire, but you need to be in combat to use thatanyway.

It would be cool, I suppose. I guess it just doesn't get me all worked up because I would still have to dismount regardless. There are other abilities I depend on that aren't SL. So I say go for it! I'll still be runnin it on foot.lol
