Thread: Changing /sys color?
Hi Everyone!
New to this SL thing and had a question that i can't find searching old threads, so here goes.
How do I change the color of my message for /sysgroup message? I've seen this done having been grouped with an SL ages ago and found it very effective as it really stands out.
Thanks
very simple...
you already know to use /sys to send the message.
To send with color you type:
/sys \#(hexcode)
I like a very bright purple, since it's almost annoying, and very hard to miss. The Hex code for that would be:
/sys \#CC00FF (See-see-zero-zero-eff-eff)
dang, no edit
so 128 = 80 !!!
if I wanted a magenta colour, I would need \#FF0080
I'll try that tonight
Me bad ![]()
I went on to the FAQ and only read as far as SYS Message, didn't see it was under advanced controls.
I guess being 2 am. at the time of post explains that.
The following are examples of aliases I have set up that use multiple colors:
/alias sas /sysg \#FFFF00\ Everyone assist \#FF0000\ %TT \#FFFF00\ now!
It will show up like this (I have irott selected in this example): Everyone assist irott now!
/alias rh /sysg \#FF0000\ %TT \#00FF00\ needs medical attention!
It will show up like this:Thulium needs medical attention!
is there a way to change the color back to the default value so that just a single word gets another color?
i know that i can change the color at any time in the text, but the text starts with the color that is chosen in the chat options and since you dont know what color that will be for other players you cannot change color back by hex-values (esp. if several players in your group have different chat color settings)
what i asked is if there is a way to let the text be:
blue-red-blue is the chat color of system messages is set to blue
and
green-red-greed if the chat color of system messages is set to green
(and likewise for all other possible colors)
Hmmm there might be a way to do that... Since my default is whiteI just use \#ffffff\ if I need to...
Maybe we should try to test this out...
\default\
\syscolor\
\defaultsys\
I don't know....
If we keep working and testing we might find it.

Hey, now. I'm glad to see your concern for my general welfare, but I'm alright...really!!
