I was wondering what the duration of our commands is? Do they last for one kill, a certain time or what?

Rally lasts for one minute. FormUp, BoostMorale, and Retreat are all one-shot abilities that take effect immediately (I'm not sure how long the burstrun from Retreat lasts). VolleyFire and SteadyAim only effect the next shot taken by group members.

I believe that's all correct...

One of the reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire was, lacking the number 0, they had no way to indicate successful return from their C programs.

That's (at least roughly) my experience as well. For those keeping track, that means we have exactly ONE skill that lasts a full minute...hm.

I believe that /retreat works for one minute, but I'm not positive.

I'm pretty sure retreat doesn't last that long. I need to pull out a stopwatch, but it seems more like 15-30 seconds to me. The point is well taken, however.

There is a way (in the options, I think) to turn a clock on your message window. Every time a message goes in or out, it gets a time stamp. When you read your log, you can see when the system message announces the start and end of /retreat. I just haven't used the command in so longI've forgotten.

Actually, I've only ever used it a couple of times. Once when I first got it to get people to a mission quicker (right around the time that mounts came out), and once or twice messing around...

Thanks for the response. I am a new squad leader. I wanted to be a squad leader when the game came out, but decided against it after reading these boards and listening to how "broken" and "ineffective" that the squad leader was. And, yes, now my holo has told me squad leader. I was happy to see that the mysterious voice told me to master a profession that I want to do. If the changes come about that are now being talked about, I will stay a squad leader. So, please don't flame me for my amazing holo message. It has brought a "could have been" squad leader into an "actual" squad leader.

Lucky you, I wished my holo had told me SL, too. That did not prevent me from still doing SL, though.

The day I broke down and opened one of those little blue boxes, a voice said to me:

"Squad Leader"

I smiled, and sold the rest of them.
