Thread: Proud to be a new member
I have just recently join your profession and I have high hopes for it! Already reading through some of the forum, I like what I read. Not only that changes are on the way but the postings by its members. On other forums, most of what you read is bashing this, cursing that. Not productive. But here... I have found people not only spotting faults in the proffesion but also ideas and way to change it. Think that has to do with the fact this profession isn't about power... it's about support. You can't be a solo SL and be any good. The group is required. And not always do Master SL make good leader either. It's the good PLAYERS that make SL work so well and why I think I'll love this profession and this forum. I'm sure most of you are true players who aren't all about exp and power. You play the game for what it is and face all the troubles that face you and find joy in conquering those problems.
On my other account I have a Master Doctor / Master CM. A very "supportive" person on hunts. Being a non-fighter so to speak, I have found many groups /makeleader myself. It's easier to lead a group when you're not so worried about killing something or your combat exp. I have often been told that I need to be SL because of my control in the field. Now that I have a new account... I went for it. And I am NOT a holocrom/jedi chaser! I'm a SL because I truely want to be one... faults and all.
I can't stand people who just chose their profession to be powerful but can't really play the game with any skill. They just ride on their powerful profession... even though they suck at it. I saw a Master Doc enter my group once and he was bragging that we could rez! That same doc was also found starting battles with a pistol from point blank range. Kind of hard to rez when you're Incapped or need healing yourself. He didn't know how to protect himself. That is what I strive NOT to be. I use what I have and I use it to the best I can. I don't take advantage of it. And I think this forum is full of many others that feel the same and I'm proud to be a part of that.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and for those who play the same as I... keep it up... we are the ones that have the most fun and that are the most useful.
