I lead a lot of base raids (well used to until got frustrated with all the base bugs) and am considering going SL to maximize our success.

How is the SL class currently with regards to PvP. Is it worth the sp?

It's ok, but it's a support class. So don't expect any FP or kills.

/formup cures stun/dizzy, which is great for fighting against TKA's, and /steadyaim doesn't give TEF's so it's a great move to spam. The passive bonuses help a little bit, but not enough to get you any recognition.

Basically, if you go SL then you better be content "directing the battle" rather than participating in it. I enjoy it, myself

I'm a little different it seems. I notice no difference with SL, and with base attacks I do what I can to direct my squad along with the other groups (usually led by SLs). If you go BH or Pistoleer or TKA you will get better defense bonuses in my opinion, but there is that thing where a lot of people see you and think "They should lead the group." I like that.

SL is really great in a ranged PvP battle but when the enemy gets in close the bonuses don't seem to help a whole lot because of the negs you get against a melee guy when you have ranged, but if you can manage to keep your enemy at a range it is well worth the SP.

Forget what people think of you as squad leader, I want to know if it's worth the sp to obtain? It sounds like people are telling me the group bonuses are not that good right now.

In my opinion, yes. But I'm the exception

/steadyaim, /formup, and /sys are our most useful abilities. When things get chaotic (multiple targets, everyoen running around), I use a /sys and /volleyfire macro to direct combat to critical targets.

The passive bonuses aren't very noticable (except for the Terrain Negotiation one), but /formup is a powerful tool to change the direction of a battle with alot of melee people.

Sounds like SLs need a lot of attention. Hardly anyone is an SL, which makes it hard to get base teams together....which also means they can't be that useful. I appreciate the feedback....any more?
