I just read the post on the fortifications, tho I do not completly agree with these strctures, I do agree they would be a nice addition, but this must NOT be the primary skill of our tree.

Bunkers and other fortress like thingies are usefull for when you are attacked, but when are the payers attacked in PvE? very rare from creature to comestraight forus and lead an assault on their own. In PvP, these strcutures are very limited, since it would be odd of placing a bunker in the middle of a city, only things like sandbags would make sense. Therefor, the biggest structure would be buildable only outside cities, but aren't most of the combat inside of the town boundaries?

What about battlefields? We already have fortress, so the bunkers would have very limited usefullness, and placing a bunker in front of the opposite fortress doesn't make sense, once we destroyed everything in our range, we must build another bunker closer to their base, this is not starcraft....

Structures like placing turrets ( buildable or bough with faction points ) and covert detector are more obvious to our professions, they could be used to barricade a part of a city, a nice mean of "controlling" it, for real.

IMO, SLs are more PvP oriented, or should be. IMO, again, the PvP is too fast ( 2 or 3 shot to kill someone ) and the massive use of CH pets in combat break PvP hard way. To give any kind of usefullness to SLs, PvP need to be more strategic, not only this current spam fights, where everybody use flamethrower, LLCs or eyeshot to let no chance to the ennemy. Why a group when a BH/CH can solo a whole city?

squad leaders should have concrete abilities to make a difference in PvP. Maybe something that makes all your group mates firing in a cone toward a single target, KD or lowering position of all the ennemies in that spot? Or an ability to make theopponents slower? Or even the brilliant ability to hide our group on the radar, for ambushes? Maybe an ability to enable an auto assist from all the group members, so when someone is attacked, the group gives an immediate response to the threat.

SLs need some means to actually help groups in PvP, since rangers seems to be much more PvE oriented.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

Want to hear about the old Kudaark? huh?
Vangeance he seeks from those who took away his Loved One
But never an innocent or a helpless one will he harm
For he is a Protector, fearsome and fearless in battle
In the name of Freedom he sways his Justice
The Purifying Flame burns within him, a Kuun-Lan, he is...

I agree in the limited usefulness of the fixed position (how many mobs have you had run away from your groups pets or have the pet it was attacking run away from it) but I disagree that SL should be PVP oriented. No profession should be oriented toward one aspect of the game like that most especially since all of a Squad Leader's xp would come from PVE.
