Thread: Should I become a SL
. . . . . . . . . . . . . read some of the posts on the board dude, the answer'll come to ya real quick........
"Is it worth it?" That's mostly up to you.
On the whole and on balance...This profession is the very weakest in the game. However, this does notentirely preventus from relaxing and enjoying it. I certainly can't recommend becoming a Squad Leader in hope that the devs will hopefully fix it because there is not even an ETA on the ETA on the prediction when this may happen or what it might entail. Even if and when all the currently available skills are working as advertised, there's hardly anything that you can do with Squad Leader that you can't do better somewhere else.
Hopefully this will not always be so. Hopefully someday (and someday soon) we will receive the complete revamp we deserve and this profession can stand proudly as the most valuable profession it should be. ...But since we not only don't know WHEN a change is coming, we don't even have much idea what that change might BE...don't count your chickens before they even lay an egg.
Might be worth it to get, but not to keep. Its a fun profession to master, you meet lots of good people along the way, and learn fighting, grouping, and leading skills, but overall, the profession really serves no real use. I mastered it, then dropped it, but dont regret it.

It all depends on the size of your balls. Do you got it in you?
A Marine recruiter asked me a similar question once.... One of the most awkwardly humorous moments of my life, I must say. Imagine a large ruddy faced leatherneck pacing in front of an otherwise computer nerd considering a potential life change and shouting, "Do you wanna be a Marine, boy!?! You gotta FEEL it... Well, DO you feel it?!!?!?" It was then that I decided that I was basically satisfied with where my genitals were and I should seek life change elsewhere.
