Squad Leader Archive

I haven't been around for a long time, so please forgive me if I missed some relevant information. Six months ago I quit SWG because of the disappointment with the classes I was playing, Carbineer and Squad Leader. While a lot of things changed to the better in the meanwhile (at least in my opinion) these two classes still remain subpar when compared with others.

The Squad Leader is still the same profession that it was 6 months ago. Granted, a few minor bugs got fixed but that's it. I'm wondering if anyone has valid information on when the SL revamp is going to happen? It does not seem to happen in the next few months, that's for sure. I think I'm going to drop SL for now and will grind it up again later on.

I understand the Squad Leader revamp will be in Publish 10. Publishes come out every 6 weeks or so, and Publish 8 is in progress now.

So, early July?

I've only had the game a week, so my understanding may be incomplete.

I find it amusing that I chose to go the same route that you are unhappy with: Squad Leader/Carbineer.

Fans of both classes seem to enjoy the fact that their class is no mere point and click profession, but that you actually have to think to use it effectively. It may take me a while to learn to use my skills properly, I may never learn them. But the skills (tactics, strategy, leadership)I learn as a player will come with me when I move on to a new game, and the skills of the point-and-clickers will forever be tied to their characters.

But I digress.

If someone has a better guess at the time of the re-vamp, kindly correct me.
