Hey there, I have 18 points to spare with my current template. My choices are either to get Novice Medic and First Aid 1 (15+2 points), or to get Novice Squad Leader (6 points) and some basic SL skills (12 pointsto spend).

So, with 12 points to spend in SL, as it stands currently, what would you recommend? It's enough to get two level1 skills, or take one skill tree to level3, but I'm not sure what gives the most benefit.

Most of myPvP is done in medium sized groups (8-12 people) and we don't usually have a Squad Leader. We either patrol cities looking for trouble, or raidplayer cities to stir up some opposition.

Cheers!

SL is really a Profession that is hard to dabble in. There are not enough abilities right now to make it to worth it, but luckily some of the best ones are the low level ones. But if you want the passives you really need to go full bore up the tree.

Really it depends what your primary Profession is, but having Medic and First Aid will never be a bad thing if your more combat heavy. Really depends on you, but I think you will find it is easier to dabble in Medic than it is to dabble in SL. I really feel that SL has a tendancy of turning into the primary Profession and you start thinking what is best to dabble with SL.

Thanks for that, I've decided to try Tactics 3, so I can get my group up to the enemy before they escape, and help them hit those defense stackers a little easier.

Oh btw, I have another question.. what is the range of the effect of the SL abilities. Like if I hit /retreat - is a squad member 100m away from me going to get the burstrun? 50m? 20? Is the range the same for /rally?

Cheers!

Ok I did some testing, the range seems to be as far as you can see. My team-mates were getting the Burst-run of /retreat at 90m or so away.

Another question. With 0003 in Squad Leader, the /retreat command lasts for 20 seconds for my team. If I rig up a macro that repeats the /retreat command faster than once per second the affect is permanent, however I need to have more than 1500 in Str, Qui and Foc (with my armour on) and I spam spatial with shouting.

Does the length of time that my team has the extra speed for increase as I gain more points in Squad Leader, or is it always 20 seconds? I assumed that Group Burstrn would be the same as the normal one, 20 seconds of speed is hardly useful.

Also, is there any pages with information on how much more accurate your team-matesbecome when /rally is used?

Cheers!

I really doubt that it stacks, unless your macro fires off every 20 seconds.

When running from combat, 20 seconds lasts quit a bit. Problem with it is that you have to not be touched, which is tough if your a combat class who gets in the mix of it.
