Thread: BEs making NPC for SL
Being able to persuade an NPC to join your group sounds like a decent idea. I think it would easily fit under the Leadership column plugged in at Leadership III or IV. I'd really like to see the devs pick this idea up, I can envision clicking on a stormtrooper and seeing "Persuade" beneath the "Examine" option on the radial menu.
Anyway, what I am getting at, I would like to be similiar to CH but instead control NPCs.
CHes have the /tame command I dont think we should be able to /tame NPCs and store them but instead influence an NPC to join your group for a certain amount of time. The higher the SL the more influence he/she has.
If the NPC is made by a BE the NPC clone can only live for a certain amount of time and cannot be stored.
If the SL succeeds in influencing the NPC to join their group the SL gains SL xp and faction associated with that NPC. If the NPC dies in battle the SL loses faction associated with that NPC.
Having the SL lose faction will limit the SL from going to a certain NPC over and over again after the death of the NPC. Therefore u must have good faction to influence the NPC. Also the SL will need other ppl in group to help the NPC stay alive.
Keep in mind:
Never can a NPC be stored; We would be slave owners then and that's not cool.
I really like the "persuade" idea, but why be veiled about it.....call it "command" instead ![]()
The BE producing soldiers is a little....strange....but I'm all for granting SL's the ability to control multiple NPC troops.

And it would not be "persuade" OR "command". It would simply be "Recruit". (It might be fun to add a "Bribe" option, as well. Give them money for their services for a short time)
I think that would be fantasticly fun. It would add a whole other dimention to the game. Some of the people you recruit as a beginnerwould fight badly, run off, get easily scared, etc... It would be pretty funny to see how the Devs made the NPCs act. Then, as you get better and more powerful, you have more influence over who you can recruit: better soldiers, as apposed to fumbling civilians.
