Doesnt master squad leader/ master commando sound so perfect? I wish I had enough skill points to do it,
they should take out unarm in commando then I could. I wrote on the commando board, talking about taking unarm out as
a pre-req...they dont want it out.
oh well.

Actaully I could do it if they took survival(camp making) out as a pre-req for SL and unarm out as a pre-req for commando. However, I think that's asking for to much. Yet then again, neither is needed for there respective professions.

Simple solution is don't master commando. pick either flame thrower, acid rifle, and either grenades or heavy weapons. I've been thinking of taking commando 4040 SL 4444 but i hate leveling up rifles
Right now i'm thinking of either TKM or carbineer. from what i hear carbineer is the better choice.

get part of heavy weapons anyway so u can do 2 parts of a base takedown (SL part and commando part)

This would have been my choice too, if the skills would have supportedit. Too bad SL requires too many supporting skills to allow for mastery of both. You do have an option: Master SL, Novice Commando, Novice TKA, Rifleman 0/0/0/4 or something similiar, THEN got your FS bonuses. The only thing you get for Commando is a bunch of slow fireing heavy weaponry and a couple of special attacks, but that's pretty much it. If you just took Novice in it, You would have a SL compitent in melee combat and able to carry heavy weapons with faster attack speeds and better defensive bonuses than usual, that's pretty good. Of course, you don't get the damage mitigation that's pretty much mandatory for any encounter with anything more than rats, so you better have your squad with you to keep 'em off.
I also noticed that toting a squad around when your grouped means the system will automatically counter you by spawn bigger and meaner enemies to fight ,so don't think you'll get away with winning through superior firepower. This profession is really only useful for PVP combat with large groups, and you don't do that, get another profession. But complimenting SL with some Novice skills and FS bonuses might make it useful with the best armor and buffs, etc, but will never stand a chance without 'em.

I like unarmed 4 for commando, I would much prefer giving up the survival tree. It is all but pointless, and from a SL persepctive, the ranger encampments are better as you can get factional equipment and the crafting stations.
But I always wandered why they never allowed the combination of both, seems like a great synergy bewtween them.
