Topic says it all.

As where I stand at the moment, it has no explaniation why we would need to have the Survival line of scout when our profession doesn't benefit here.

For those who are going to say "it's the squad leader's role to establish an encampment"
Well 1) We'ill still have novice scout which still allows the construction of the basic survival camp and 2) Soldiers carry their own tents and are expected to contrust their own encampment. Not the squad leader. In the real-life military. Squad leaders don't carry a huge tent with some herseys choclate and crackers for smoors.

Do you beleive that we should or should not have the survival preq?

Well.. swg doesn't actually have "soldiers", only weapons specialists, which makes your vision of soldiers lugging around tentsin game flawed.

There is only one "soldier" that has camping as a speciality, and that would be ranger, albeit that is in a whole league above the humble squad leaders attempts, so arguably camps should probably be the prioritizedcampsetter.

From a roleplaying perspective it makes somewhat sense, combined with the terrain negotiation SL gives, that along making his soldiers tougher anywhere anytime, he would have the knowhow to allow his troops a decent night sleep in a stealthy camp in the event thatthe ranger wentgaagaa overthe bothanin hawtpants.

Camps are more nuisance than resource in the current game, but in a game where time/buffs wasn't as critical to lay camps would be a useful skill in a leader.

Another skill that might be convenient would be the first branch of medic, but it would be an awful drain on skillpoints, leaving little room for individual power.

I think it should stay. Establishment of a camp is sort of a leader like thing to do. And I hope that the SL revamp addresses the need for camp/fort like stuffy.

I would like to see some specialist Squad Leader camps. I believe it has been talked over before, but something like sandbag bunkers, that give you some type of cover during a large fire fight, placed anywhere in cities and outside would be very cool. Of course they would have damage characterisics. Or if you had a Heavy Weapons Specialist, perhaps placing an Eweb Gun type of camp as well. Or perhaps a "Buff Camp" where on top of your regular buffs it gives you a smaller increase in all your stats based on the amount of time you are in camp with a max limit.

I'd prefer that the survival prereq be made useful over having it removed. Camps have a lot of potential. The Devs just need to put some work into it.

The same when they took the master scout requirement off BH, I would rather have more skills from the prerequisites than to just drop the prerequisites. So, for SL, I'd much rather have more camp/survival capabilities then to just drop it.
