won't fly with the devs but I wanted to run it past you. I have a toon that is a CH and a toon that is a SL so I flip back and forth between the forums. This has kind of hit me on the blind side but I think it has some potential. In order to incorporate many classes in the GCW what do you think of a force sheild generator type of defense for groups. (aka Episode I Battle on Naboo). This feature could be similar to the requirements to take out bases. This could help incorporate the following classes into the GCW:
1) Creature Handler: The ability to train/handle the LARGER mounts for carrying the Shield Generator's
2) Armorsmiths: The ability to construct a shield generator that would protect and "X" meter radius. This would be mounted on the critters.
3) Weaponsmiths: Maybe a stretch butturrents that cna be placed on the larger mounts? Not as accurate but a little damage here and there. (ever see a Nuna carry a turrent?)
4) Squad Leader: The shield/weapon can only be activited with a MSL present in the group.
On a greater stretch you could even add a few more classes like BE (increased size and speed of the critters) orSmuggler (shield slicing).
I would like to keep these factors contstants:
The Shield will only protect vs ranged attacks. It will not be UBER protection but a little protection in the PVP battles.
The Critters will have to stay within and "X" m radius or the shield will disband.
Toonscan enter the shield.Melee attacks and poison attackscan be applied from outside the shield and ranged attacked can be applied once the shield is breached.
Granted thisis a rough draft and an indea is motion please feel free to add your suggestions or flames.

Ok is this idea stupid or off-base? I see that I have several views but no responses. If you don't like it please post your reasons. Really folks I have a tough skin, I was just looking for a little feedback.

Seems fine really, but you can cut that down to a CH and a Armorsmith as you really do not need a SL to flip a switch. The biggest job is the CH to control the critter, while carring this thing. I think you might even get something with the turret pulled off if the Devs were feeling up to it. The BE's involvment is the least and that would be just creating the critter if you can't capture one in the wild. I would just scrap the smuggler part out, as they can't slice turrets nor the personal sheilds (that I know of).
Just hope that if they do go with this idea they don't screw this sheild generator as much as they hadwith the personal ones; ieworthless.

The BE and Smuggler were just a bone I was throwing out there. The smugglers will get their revamp (eventually).PSG's can be sliced that is why in included them. The weaponsmith is a real stretch as well. I amglad you saw it the wayI did with the CH keeping the mount in formation, the armorsmithconstructing the shield, and the MSL flipping the switch.
Ifwe can really define this a little more it could possibly open the door for the AT-AT to finally be introduced as a faction pet for imperials. Call this the Rebel/Third Faction counter AT-AT.
Thanks for the feedback. Anyone else have a suggestion on refining or introducing this idea to the devs?

Thanks for the info for the slicing of the psg. Never knew that. Such a waste really. But I did say that you probally don't need a SL just for flipping on a switch. It would be a good neutral related aid though, and that is a good thing.
