TheSquad Leader profession is a joke. To be quite honest I think the people that are SL did it so they could get like two things to benafit a group, also to be able to take down player bases thats it. Other than that I don't see any thing other than those two things worth even getting novice of this profession. If their is some thing else to this profession besides what I've listed please share, I just want to make sure if I get into this profession if its going to be worth my time even starting it let alone mastering it. But I really do give cudo's to the people have mastered this profession, mastering any of the hybrid professions is not easy if you don't know how to get through it correctly.

Having been a Master Squad Leader and left the profession only to return last night as a minor dabbler to aide in base cracking, I can tell you this profession is not a joke.

Its not a combat profession, so somebody out looking for an ubertemplate is going to be immediately disappointed by it. Its a profession that makes massive demands on the player who takes it and forces his attention to matters above and beyond what he's shooting at to the condition of the people he's coordinating.

Whether its a well timed Form Up command that saves half his squad from being plowed by a rash of Dizzy/KD spam or having the Squad Leader drain most of his HAM in using a Retreat command to allow his squad to make a fast moving lightning attack on the initial contact, or allowing people who do pour 250 points into combat professions the ability to move across open terrain with the mobility of a Master Scout, Squad Leaders are not jokes.

Next time you group with a Master SL, take a look at your Ranged and Melee defenses. +30 to each, just for being in a group is nothing tosneeze at.

If you just want to bash things for loot and xp, this isn't your profession. If you're looking to make a group of people more deadly than they would be on their own and are capable of looking beyond your own immediate glory, then this is your profession.

I agree SL isnot for everyone. I feel SL is for the thinking man. I am makeing way up theprofession and Ido not thinkI will everdrop it. I have witnessed aMSL really make a difference in may PVP battles. If you become a SL just remember that you are not a tank....you just tell them where to go.

Thxs for your reply guys. I think I'll give this prof a try.. I mean I could always drop it some time down the road if it doesn't work out right.. Also what do you guys use for your remaining points? you go into a hybrid weapon prof?

You know how dizzy/KD tends to kill people? Not when you have a SL.

You know how when you have no scout and that pesky BH is running away from you up the hill? Not when you have a SL.

You know how when you're a BH and have no defenses? Not when you have a SL.

Would you like to have permanent /burstruns? Have a (buffed) SL.

I love being a SL, and they can definately turn battles toward your favor.

I was a Master Squad Leader, and I dropped it, due to IMO, more than half the profession being broken. FormUp and SteadyAim are the professions more important commands, and no, Squad Leader isnt for everyone, but I know I'll be attempting it again after the revamp.
