I'm considering playing a SL, but the xp looks a little daunting atm. Is that 5million 'squad' xp actually the same as the combat xp you receive, or is it a higher number? Let's say you are in a group of 2 people and you get 4000xp for the kill and 400combat xp for the kill... how much squad xp would you get? How about if you were in a group of 6? In a group of 6 and you got 4000 for the kill and 400 in combat xp.... how much squad xp would you get?
I don't really want definitive exact answers, just a roundabout figure so I don't have to grind for the next 8 years to become a Master SL. Thanks for the info guys.

You could potentialy master SL in a matter of hours at Ft. Tusken or the right group. It took me 2 weeks, but i am no power gamer.

It takes 3-6 hours at Fort Tusken with a big enough group.. It's the group's combat exp..
It took me and other vet players a couple of weeks, a month or more, though, heh, when it was just your own combat exp.. sigh..

Another new SL here. I had a question about experience as well. Without watching the bar, I quickly went over double the experience amount needed to advance from the first level of Squad Leader. Most other professions have a hard limit of double or less. Is Squad Leader experience like Combat Experience - where there is no ceiling?
