I just Mastered Squad Leader on Firday June 18, 2004 @ 11:00 CST (/pat on back) and really enjoy it so far. I am going Rifleman as my combat complement to SL. My question to the SL community is do you think that I should reconsider my combat prof with the Combat Balance coming up? Has anyone else considered shifting their template?

FYI on my character.

I orginally created thistoon to be a Pikeman/Ranger (toon is still farily new). He is a Zabrak with Brawler Default HAM. Zabraksregen their Health/Action HAMS slower than other classes.

Squad Leader always intrigued me andmy guild was with out one so offto the SL trianer in Bestine I went and 1 month later a MSL stands before you.

Riflemanseemsslow to advance in to me because Iprefer to group hunt and not solo as much.

Are their any melee SL's out there? If soplease give me somepro's/con's.

Thanks

I want to be a Master Commando/Squad Leader, but thanks to that useless bit of Survival tree that we have to grind through just to start Squadleader, it saps up all those skill points. Hopefully in the SL revamp they do away with that tree so we can become Master Commandos as well.

However, what other thing is there to do besides Rifleman? I'm an avid PvP person (even though its kinda dead on my server at the moment), so naturally Rifleman > everything but Combat Medics, right?

Then the rest of those skill points I use for 3/2/3/0 of medic (just for the PvE aspect of the game). But going back to SL/melee, I can't say I've seen one yet.

Actually..I myself am a sl/melee. I was commando and enjoyed it but I have found that master swordsman with an extremely nice scythe is very essential to any group. Why not be one of the most powerful in the group as well as the leader and protector?

My one character is a master squad leader/carbineer. It works well. Since SL is more of a support role I pared it with a combat profession that I felt was fitting. Carbineer has good area attacks, state effects, decent damage and range. I can sit there, knock some mobs down, dizzy/blind/stun them, and do the /formup etc from behind the front line. It is a nice template. Just wish I could find a use for /volleyfire. Seems to confusse the group more than help.
