Squad Leader Archive

I have seen a bucn of great ideas for the upcoming revamp. Some I agree with completely, some I do not. However one topic that I could not find any discussion on was Squad Leaders & creature mounts. I did a search on the SL board and saw this topic brought up a few months ago, and then it kind of faded away. I'm a novice, career Squad Leader, and I thought that having Squad Leaders able to use their abilities while mounted would be brilliant. And I obviously don't mean any combat abilities, but rather all of the Squad Leader skills. It just makes sense, from a historical standpoint and even to the SW world.

I don't think that having Squad Leaders being able to use creature mounts would throw any combat systems out of balance. In fact, I think it could make Squad Leaders more vulnerable, especially in Player vs Player combat. A Squad Leader riding on a dewback would be like waving a red flag at the enemy. I don't think there should be any additional bonuses to riding, just the added mobility.

The odds of this feature being added to the revamp are probably slim to none, but I won't give up hope till its officially declared dead. I mean how hard could it be to turn on a few programming switches to allow the skills to be used!

I like the idea and I agree with the BIG target that you would but on your chest if you were mounted. But since you can fire on a creature mount I don't see why this couldn't work for some of the roleplayers.

Heck, there is no reason to not be able to fire off of a speeder too. Not like it was a major part of a movie, well, one of the good ones at least. Thing is if that were possible there would be so much kitting that you might as well makeKrayt drops worthless. Now if you did something like say that you can only use Scout Blasters, that would be cool.

And if you can shoot from something, there should be no reason why a SL can't shout from it as well. Screw it, we are a hybred Elite. Let us /be/ cool then.
